Fighting game Dead or Alive 6 was given a release date today via a press release from KOEI TECMO! The next installment in the series will launch worldwide on the 15th February 2019 for the PS4, Xbox One and Steam.

Along with this announcement, Team NINJA, the game's developers, revealed the first details regarding digital pre-order bonuses:

• PlayStation 4 pre-orders will score a unique DOA6 theme as well as obtaining “The Female Tengu” Nyotengu as a playable character.
• Xbox One pre-orders will also be able to download Nyotengu to their roster on top of receiving a pre-order bonus costume for the legendary Ryu Hayabusa.

Team NINJA also unveiled a Digital Deluxe edition of the game for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam that will include a set of 25 extra costumes, three bonus musical tracks, a DDX exclusive Kasumi costume, and an exceptional character added to the line-up, the formidable Kasumi clone, Phase 4.

Your crystal ball is working fine, I can see. The DLC costumes for DOA 5 Last Round were mostly lame, in my opinion. Maybe 20% were OK, the rest boring. If they continue the same trend, I don't see a bright future for DOA6 (DLC wise).

Say what you want about Body Physics in DOA, but honestly they have a decent engine for a fighting game. I have been more interested in the series for a while related to arena interactions. They are getting closer to realistic fighting with item destruction, arena movement, trap damage, edge interactions, etcetera. It adds more effect to the game-play.

They were on a free-to-play model for the past several years, if you have a PS3/4/XB360/1 you can just download it for free with a few of the fighters and no story mode.
