A year ago there was mentioned that Xenoblade chronicles X would be ported to the switch. Monolith software said if a port would happen that they're not doing the port but another company would be doing it since they're having their hands full
with another mystery game that they're supposed to be working on.
The port would have increased resolution and supposedly it would have additional mini DLC and content.
Now that Elma is has came to Xenoblade chronicles 2 as DLC as a blade the rumor has sprung up again and is getting more likely that the port will indeed happen since the original voice actor also came back to voice Elma.
The developer of xenoblade chronicles X also said multiple times that they're really interested in bringing this port to the Nintendo switch in the not so distant future.
Usually when developers say stuff like that means it is already in development behind the scenes and that they're doing it to gauge if there is any interest from the fans.
Personally I don't care much about ports, I think Nintendo is really going overkill with ports since they're not pumping out enough games so they want to fit those empty months filled with ports.
I rather see some new fresh titles being pumped out on a regular basis then getting flooded with ports after ports and ports.
Personally i'm getting a bit sick and tired of port. Xenoblade chronicles x to me is the best xenoblade game ever made and I loved it so much to get in my giant ass gundam and see the world opening up even more and exploring the entire world.
So in a way it is good that a port is likely to happen for people that didn't get to enjoy this title but still getting so sick and tired of ports !
Wondering how everybody else thinks about this ?

Well some people claim that ports now are useful since you can play your Switch everywhere so a portable version is a crowd pleaser. My dismay lies with full price for old content where the amount of work already been done and with minimum effort a Switch version is made even if it has all the DLC previously released it still should not be full price.

In the end it might be a good version.

btw Elma is already out as DLC in Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

True that, that is something I have seen Nintendo doing compared to Xbox and PlayStation. Remasters always come around the 20 - 40 euro/dollar mark with all DLC included but mostly at 30 euro/dollar while Nintendo remasters usually start from 60 to 70 euro/dollar. But still, I think they're pushing out to many remasters and not enough fresh new games

The only game I have been impressed with so far on the Switch was Octopath Traveler. It wasn't a very remarkable game technically or graphically but the game play is outstanding.

I never got the chance to play X, so I'd love a Switch port to be true.
Then ur def gonna love this. To me personally it is a 100 times better then chronicles 2. It's a more open world game focused towards exploring with your big ass gundam while chronicles 2 is a less open world game but still is more focused towards story. The reason why xenoblade chronicles 2 is that different from x is because the original team was forced to do the open world design of botw so they had to form an entire new team who had to work on chronicles 2

Did you also play Chronicles 1 and can compare X with 1? I always heard that 1 was way better than X.

I myself was a big Fan of Chronicles 1, I'm still waiting to start with Chronicles 2 until the last (big) DLC is released and I am pretty sure that even if X is not as good as Chronicles 1 I would still love it because I know what I like in a game and I often noticed that I really like games (especially in a long running series) that some People really dont like. For example: In my opinion FF6 ist the best in the FF series, then maybe 9, 13, 13-2 and 7 everything else is kind of a tie but 8 for me is by far the worst just because I really hated the damn draw system with every fiber of my being.

Either way, I would really like it if they would release a Xenoblade Chronicles X switch port. Always wanted to try X because I love RPGs, Mechas and Open World. But to buy a Wii U seemed like wasting a lot of money just for 1 or 2 games cause everything else did not really interesst me or I already seen my Friends Lets play it (Mario Color Splash XD)

Well to me X was the best because of the exploration aspect it had. It also didn't hold your hand like it does with 1 and 2.
