I have two profiles on my switch, one for legit games I bought and another for backups. I’m not banned yet. If I transfer my account that I only play legit games with to a second switch how high is the risk for the second switch to be banned? I ask because I have DLC tied to my legit profile and want to continue playing online with it.

I haven’t played any .nsp games on my old switch only .nsp dlc. I went online with CFW accidentally twice. I have a backup of my nand before I used homebrew of SXOS if that would help. Thanks.

Just know that nintendo will ban every switch that has the account on it. That's if they ever do ban you.

Don't listen to uninformed people

I had an untouched switch with the same account and both got banned

I transferred my account and everything it's fine ,i just stopped using the hacks, need to be safe until hackers make banning a thing from the past ;)

They are console bans. Having one account for OFW and one for CFW will do jack. The console will be banned and both accounts on the banned unit will be unable to access online.

Nintendo is banning consoles not Accounts
No shit lol
Do you even read
I.said Nintendo will ban all systems that have account. If you have 3 switches with the same account on them, even if only one switch is hacked and banned by Nintendo, the other 2 systems will be banned as well

That's COMPLETELY contradictory to every single ban report we've had thus far. According to every single ban report we've had thus far, Nintnedo bans SPECIFIC CERTS from SPECIFIC CONSOLES and only when SAID SPECIFIC CERTS begin behaving strangely(as in illegal CDN access, playing online with pirated backups, cheating/moding online etc etc). There hasn't been a SINGLE report of banned ACCOUNTS, only banned CONSOLES

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Pretty sure the OP is talking about transferring their account to a different console, not having two accounts on the same console

You’re such a fucking liar kid.

They ban based on console fingerprints not account associated with the device. Why else would they unlink your switch for you when the first one got banned
Allowing you to use your second one for all your purchases.

Please don’t spread misinformation

And community

please don’t listen to this liar

transferring to a second switch is safe if you arent already banned. I did it a few days ago.

You need to boot to OFW and load eshop and deacivate your account from the modded console. If you can do that your fine. Next go to system > User transfer your settings to the new switch

once that is done and you sign in to eshop on the new switch your account wont be tied to the modded switch.

IF your modded switch gets hit with a future ban it wont effect your second switch.

Funny how suddenly M$ looks decent for only banning your X360 that was modded back in the day. They wanted you to go buy a new one, sign right back into your XBL account and pay for that next installment of COD/HALO.

N has been so lax in their ticket/online stuff up until this generation. I agree....always make a clean account with a clean machine. Too many unkowns right now but within a few months we will either have stealth or ofw/cfw dual boot (emunand).

i was wondering about this as well, i have an account on my 1st switch that has splatoon 2 tied to it, was a digital purchase. now that the console is SuperBanned I want that legit copy of Splatoon 2 on my legit Switch. i also don't want to risk having 2 SuperBans though.

Nintendo only bans consoles, not accounts according to reports. So it should be safe for you to unlink your account from the banned switch and link it to the unbanned one

Yes and right after that, the OP states" If I transfer my account that I only play legit games with to a second switch"
I understand this, but it doesn't change the fact that having two accounts, one for CFW and one legit, on the same Switch, is completely pointless, as the Switch itself gets banned.

I just didn't want people to think they could be safe from a ban by creating a second account and using it for CFW on their original Switch :)

Also there is still a risk that when logging into the 'legit' account, even once, on a hacked unit, will log and send some sort of report to Nintendo. At which point you have a brand new Switch that gets hit with a ban in the next wave.

The only safe way is to never use a legit account, ever, on a hacked unit. Not even once. The legit account should be fully removed before any CFW is launched. Or a brand new account created on a new virgin unit.
