Hacking Am I ready to install Homebrew Channel?

Hello, sorry for asking, but to me hacking the 3ds is a bit complicated.
I received my New 3ds XL today, it comes with 11.2.35E.
This means according to 3ds.guide I should use Soundhax, is this still valid or maybe the guide is outdated.
I don't have a NNID connected to it, and never connected it to the internet at all.
All I did is checked my SD card for errors, and deactivated the share system info in spotpass.
Anything left to do?
Something I should be careful with?
I just wanna use it for playing Backups, and Emulation, no online whatsoever.
Can I update the console after hacking it?

The guide is up to date, yea you should use Soundhax as your entry point method.

Also yes you can update the console after hacking, in fact if you follow 3ds.hacks.guide you'll be prompted to do that

What's the worst case scenario?
How can I be certain that I've installed Luma etc.
I just don't wanna fk something up.
Just connect to Wifi and do the update?

If you were shown the Luma configuration screen, then you have CFW and there's absolutely no risk in updating

Oh okay. Yeah I saw the screen and also ticked the checkbox for showing the firmware or sth.

Is it really safe to activate Internet the whole time?
And is there a ftp tool for the ds?
Getting the sdcard on a new 3ds is a pain

Yes as long as you disable the data sending in the settings
