Weekend Discussion: What "dream game" would you want to see get announced?

review_banffner_base_new.png

The gaming industry outputs hundreds upon thousands of games each year, with all sorts of different varieties of genres and concepts to choose from. Selections such as AAA major title entries, niche lesser-known games, independent games, and everything in between. With so many options, there's bound to be something that every person can wholeheartedly enjoy. This brings about the question of what game you love the most, and what remake, sequel, revival, or revolutionary creation you'd want to see in the future. In the past few years, we've seen quite the number of hard to believe reveals, ranging from the remake of the beloved Final Fantasy VII, a spiritual successor to Castlevania: SOTN, a sequel to Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption, a long-awaited revival of the Shenmue series, a tease for Elder Scrolls VI, a new title from The Witcher devs: Cyberpunk 2077, Kingdom Hearts III, the announcement of Metroid Prime 4, a new Smash Bros., and so many more.

Does this future lineup sate your desires, or is there something you long to see get announced at one of the many gaming trade shows, like E3, Gamescom, or Tokyo Game Show? Perhaps an ancient JRPG series that you want to finally get a western release? Or maybe something that could no longer be created, due to the developers having shut down, but still a game you'd still want to see happen one day, despite the odds? A franchise buried by years past, ignored by its IP owner? Even worse, a series that was once great, yet fell from grace, that you want to see returned to its former glory?

Even with so many games releasing per year, that doesn't mean the well of ideas is dry, either. There could be an idea for a game that you've had for ages, but has never come close to being a real game. What are your thoughts? Is there a specific idea or game that would make your dreams come true, if it were to be announced? Let us know in the comments below!

I don’t care if it’s old, or yet another remake, which normally I’m not a big fan of.
But Super Mario World HD. I’d love that, I still play it all these years later, so a nice HD remake would be awesome.

Other than that, a new 2D Metroid for the Switch.

Link's awakening was the very first zelda game i played when I was a child :D

That game was a milestone in my collection and still shines above other games even to this day!! i think whoever owned and played that game walked away happy..... or the small percentage who couldnt beat the dungeons pmsl

A 2d metroid for 3ds and a port of Salt and Sanctuary.
If it was on Vita, than it could be on 3ds if there's any effort

Phantasy Star Online BB

A port/remake of Zipper Interactives RECOIL (would work wonderfully with gyro controls)

A Halo Port, with the Forge included

A full Garry’s Mod port

Maybe a port of GuildWars?

The switch has the hardware to play persona 5 likely at ps3 quality. Still Atlus already has interest in the switch via SMT5. and already has persona series on current Nintendo systems via persona Q. They put persona 4 on vita now if they wanted to re-release persona 5 it would not be a problem to put it on switch since the vita is dying and the switch is hot. As for The diamond/pearl remake that's simple pining for one of my fave games in the series.

SMT = Nintendo
Persona = PlayStation

Persona Q is just an Etrian Odyssey game with Persona characters in it.
Atlus can release the enhanced version of Persona 5 on PS4 like they did with Persona 3 FES on PS2.

Why not both? I say the switch deserves a shot.

An actual Metal Gear Solid V, not the hack job that was released as The phantom pain. With a real ending that does what it was promised close the big boss history.

A new Silent Hill made by Japanese brains.

While a huge fan of Half Life, not expecting 3 in fact don't want 3, maybe an EP 3 that close the Dr Breen and city 17 chapter.
