So, I have 2 clean switches right now. One I will want to use for Legit games i bought and can play Online.
The other one will be for all kind of CFW related stuff. So getting this Super Ban will block me from all kind of updates.
U guys said there is a way to update offline in other ways anyway.
How much trouble is the offline updating method for the console firmeware itself and for Game updates?

If u guys where in my shoes would you stick to xci files or the nsp ones which will get you probably super banned?
Im not sure if i should order SX Pro for the xci file support, or just get ReiNX or smth and use nsp files because maybe updating stuff will not be that much trouble ?

Getting an update file every few months is a lot less effort than paying $$$ and messing around with their loader every time you want to change a game. Only go with sx if you are running a single switch and hoping to avoid a ban with it.

And even then it's not a guarantee that you'l avoid a ban

Shell out for SX and their dongle. Drag'n drop. Play. The others bring nothing but drama.

Right now, ReiNX and RajNX offer many more advantages than SXOS does. And drama? Who the fuck cares about drama as long as they deliver a good product. And they have. Who cares about their stupid little internal squabbles, it's none of our business as long as the final product is good. And judging from the success of ReiNX and RajNX, it's good

@sharaku17 Here is my story.
I have two legit switches from launch in the house, just bought a 3rd for CFW. Took it out of the box, did minimal setup with no Nintendo account or WiFi, enabled airplane mode, did full Nand backup, loaded RajNX, ChoiDujourNX for 5.1 update and ExFat. It has never been online and so is self-banned. The advantage is anytime I chose the Nand can be restored. Maybe some time in the future the community will develop a method for safely taking it online, maybe not. Might setup some DNS blocking or proxy solution in the future if I find a need for 3-way or more local multiplayer but that is low priority as I can do it legit with the 2 other Switches.

Currently waiting to see how DragonInjector shakes out, but not opposed to SX Pro in the future as it would be nice to have a mobile way to inject payloads. xci’s are probabaly a tad more convenient as they do not have to be installed but it doesn’t take all that long to install nsp’s so it is not a big deal to me and I have had no problem obtaining all I want even without using CDNSP.

Offline updates have not been a problem at all if you know a couple of sources, I even obtained 5.1 from one such source.

I beleive the SX menu may be more convenient if you have tons of games and using multiple SD cards.

Thanks man, that really helped and confirmed what i was thinking anyway.
One more question that maybe u can answer.
With the switch which is kinda selfbanned. Is it still possible to play local multiplayer with a nsp and with a switch that a friend brings over?
For example like Mario Party which will come out in the future, would be interesting to know if i can play with a local friend.

If it has a local lan option, maybe. But probably not as most games require connection to a server hosting files.

As Canna just said, not if it needs to connect to a server. But I have read a couple of threads a here about the issue and it sounds like it can be done but I think it involves some network configuration like dns blocking or a proxy. Maybe cheap separate router. I can’t remember exactly. I know Nintendo has some KB articles about setting up Splatoon2 and MK8 for local only LAN play but that is wired IIRC and don’t think internet is required.

One important thing to remember is to always have airplane mode enabled when mobile so you don’t connect to the dreaded Nintendo Hotspots.

Nintendo's idea of "Lan play" usually isn't via wifi, its via bluetooth. So you don't need internet, but might have trouble in airplane mode.

I dunno what your talking about >.>
About swap and return ? Probably buying a new one online and returning the banned one in the new box in the 14 days after purchase... I'm sure retailers will check serial numbers soon enough, if people do so.
About people buying a banned console fully knowing it, to pay less a console they use exclusively offline ?

Think they will check the motherboard?

This can become a real headache for retailers.

Weird that cdnsp no longer works, but FreeshopNeXt works just fine with the cert it uses that comes in its zip file

CDNSP does work still with it's current Cert which is most likely the last one ever. Also FreeShopNX runs off your console right? If so then it's using your OWN cert, not a public one
