Hi:

I've successfully hack a New3ds using 'Zelda Four Swords' game. I'm very impressed. The 3ds is not mine, is from one friend. It's possible to restore the game to be usable again?
I mean, when I open it, it runs the hack again. I understand that I should not run the hack again, otherwise really bad things will happen.

I have tried the following things: Deleting the game and re-downloading from the eshop, restoring the orignal .bin file and copying back to the console, and looks like nothing works.

Is possible to restore the game? Or I simply should ignore and delete the game?

P.D. The system has the firmware 11.8.0, and is a New3ds with emunand active with linked nands.

Thanks for reading.

after you install boot9strap just delete the game and any ext data if it has any and redownload the game

Wait, why did you use an emunand? That seems to be the issue.

Isn't better to have emunand?

On my own Old3ds I still have a very old firmware (like 8.3 or something) and with emunand I have the lastest firmware. When 11.8 came out, I updated and after that Luma failed to launch. With the sysnand I still could boot, and days later I updated Luma to fix the 11.8 firmware.

Do you recommend to erase the emunand?

Emunand has been deprecated and far from recommended ever since the advent of A9LH, a long time ago.
What's likely happening here is that you are installing a TWL title to your emunand, and it's not matching the sysnand version, therefore not launching.
I would simply nix the emunand and run with CFW sysnand, and install your stuff there. Almost guaranteed that's what your problem is.

I do, life and SD cards are much better without one. That's why most people don't have EmuNANDs nowadays.

Copy emunand to sysnand. Make a backup first.
Then get rid of emunand by formatting the sd card.

Emunand is really unnecessary in this day and age of bootrom hax.

Don't erase your Nintendo 3ds folder though. Back that up to PC first.

Adding to what @OkazakiTheOtaku (wow this really long name) said,

DSiWare doesn't on EmuNAND. Read this here:
You don't necessarily have to delete your EmuNAND and start all over again.

Make a NAND image *.bin back up with GodMode9 and use that to Restore SysNAND (Safe).
IE: Transfer your EmuNAND setup to SysNAND.

Edit - I've been ninja'd by @zoogie.

Ok, do you a guide to backup sysnand to copy emunand to sysnand? Or I should use godmod9 to do this?

EDIT:

I will use godmode9

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
