Hacking Question Have SXOS, but got banned from online by nintendo for playing fortnite

Hi everyone,

Im relatively new to the modchips/hacking scene for the Nintendo switch. I have the sxpro dongle from TX. I dont play on the switch, but my younger brother does. I set up sxos cfw for my brother and installed only mario kart for him, which he plays offline. However, while in cfw mode, he does play fortnite a lot.

After a few days, today he tries to open fortnite but gets a message stating how nintendo has restricted online features for this console.

I understand that playing online with pirated games can raise a red flag to nintendo, but i was never aware that playing something like fortnite can cause them to detect the software modification.

Is there anyway around this currently?

Once you get banned, there's no going back. You will need to buy another console

Btw I have SX too and I'm playing Paladins and more rarely Fortnite too almost everyday, it's been 20 days now and I'm not banned. What I do is that I play those games in the original fw not on SX. At this point you can't do nothing but buy a new console.

The main reason here is because you have SX OS and Play online. If you installed a MK nsp (Means is not a XCI file) once you go Online your switch checks all your installed games and if is not a legit purchases, ten you got ban. Sorryxñ, but thats how it works. Even if is a XCI file, somehow you can get ban. Just for hace a CFW

Edit: what can I do or not do with a banned console?

You cannot access the eShop
You cannot use any of the online services
You can update your games
You can continue using SX OS with no worries

As long as I can still install games with sxos and update them through sxos I should be fine, right? I have no use for the eshop and my brother plays no games online (except fortnite) so that’s not really an issue.l (because he can play on my ps4) We play local multiplayer only (rarely) on switch too. Also, I buy physical copies of games and don’t like digital, hence another reason why no access to eshop doesn’t bother me. It does still suck though, but oh well. Not “buy a new console” worthy of an issue though in my opinion.

Yes correct. As you mentioned, as long as you do not need the Eshop for anything and since you do not play any games online, you can continue to use SXOS to install any game you wish and play them in single player.

This is just wrong. There is no such thing as you described since me and many other users have dozens of nsp´s installed (i for myself have over 100) and can still play fine our LEGIT copies online, also via sxos (just don´t touch the installed nsps while online, i think this is what happened to OP´s brother, even if he thinks he´s not online like playing just a GP he indeed IS connected to N´s server in background while the game is running).

So they know if you are playing NSP files even if you are offline

Oh yes, a fear monger.

I believe you should support the devs, but in the 49 years I have been alive, I have been pirating computer games since I was 14. Once the Playstation game out and we started getting mod chips, I have been pirating consoles games. And guess what? No one stops producing games, and the games get better as the tech gets better.

The problems with games have nothing to do with piracy, but have everything to do with greed. Piracy accounts for small part of sales lost. But it's a great excuse to blame bad sales on.

Big problems came when the PC Gaming Industry decided to hollywood it by banking on massive triple AAA titles to bring it big money. Problem is, only a few of the AAA titles end up being worth there money because management generally is about getting the shit out the door and devs have no choice to but to do what they are told.

Piracy is never the problem it's made out to be. It's really just an excuse used to justify stupid DRM or bad sales.

Why would you make a thread for this? If you pirated a game and play online (doesn't matter if its fortnite or anything, just connecting online) no duh its going to trigger something. Your console is banned and if you want to play online you have A) Ask Nintendo to unban or B) Buy a new Switch.
