Format the sd to exfat, its worth it , got tired of cutting xci files , i just started the switch on original firmware, updated from 4.0.1 to 5 and formated the sd card. Plus installed all the latest updates and dlc.

I don't care about the online portion on the switch, so don't really care if i get banned or not.

What you can do as a work around is take another SD card, format it to exfat and use that to install your nsp files that are larger then 4gb to your system memory). Then you can put your normal fat32 sd card in and play the game fine.

Also you really don't need fancy update shenanigans to get exFAT support, simply extract your SYSTEM:/Contents/ folder from a NAND backup, put it on SD and use ChoiDuJourNX to apply your current firmware with exFAT support.

Yep, this is what I did. Even as a very technically-inclined person, the original exFat guide intimated me so I waited. I'm glad I did, because extracting the update partition from a game cart and installing the exFat driver with ChoiDuJourNX was exceptionally easy and worked great.

Also, as a side note, there is a tool to split NSP files for fat32 installation, but it is a SDK tool and thus cannot be linked here.

I have nothing to add to this thread other than stating that it took me like 5 re-reads to understand that "isth" is "shit". Damn kids and your weird spelling...
