hey gbatemp!

I wanted to ask about the steps required to update to 3.65 enso while on 3.60 enso with a psvsd installed on a 3g 1000 vita.

I won't ask for someone to just explain everything to me without doing some reading on my own so If i can just ask about the steps that I need help with/ need some more clarification on?

Everything is taken from the steps on (new user so i can't link) vita.hacks.guide/updating-to-3.65-(henkaku) and it's following pages

So first I want to know if I'm understanding the process correctly.

1. unlink the current memory card/psvsd on henkaku 3.60 and uninstall enso,
then with an official mem card (for 1000 users) update to official firmware 3.65 through dns shenanigians like the old henkaku method.

2.After henkaku compatible 3.65 is installed, use h-encore to install henkaku on the current 3.65, regain access to vitashell, and then install enso.

and that's it?

So theres a bunch of things i want to ask (mostly regarding psvsd, there's not too much around from what i found for people with psvsd with this update)

1. after getting h-encore to install henkaku on 3.65 and getting enso installed, what to do with the psvsd from there? in section 2 here vita.hacks.guide/updating-to-3.65-(henkaku) at disabling plugins, do i need to uninstall usbmc then reinstall it after 3.65 enso or will the vita recognize the psvsd mem card?

2. to add to that, the only plugin i have is nonpdrm, so that is something i need to redo after updating?
and the only other two programs i have installed are adrenaline and maidump, would those transfer over or do they need to be reinstalled?

again, I'm just confused as to what happens to all the games/files stored on the psvsd after updating.

3. also in regards to the disabling plugins section,
  1. Edit the file ur0:tai/config.txt and remove the lines corresponding to any plugin files you have installed to ur0:tai/
  2. Delete any .skprx or .suprx plugin files you have installed from ur0:tai/
i dont have uxo:tai but in uro it's safe to delete henkaku.skprx/suprx? along with taihen, henkaku_config.bin?

theres a thread on gbatemp here gbatemp.net/threads/anyone-with-a-psvsd-update-to-3-65-yet.499161/#post-7884166

that says "Other than those adjustments, the guide is good. Just update VitaShell and your plugins, remove the plugins from config.txt (the actual plugin files can stay), remove Ensō, unlink the memory card if needed, reinstall MolecularShell and VitaShell again (this time to the memory card), run the update, re-enable your plugins, profit!"

they're saying theres no need to delete the skprx/suprx files? just change the config.txt?

4. what is storagemgr? here vita.hacks.guide/storagemgr

it seems to be an alternative to usbmc? do i uninstall usbmc after the update and use storagemgr instead to gain access to the psvsd again?

other questions:

5. in the first two sections here vita.hacks.guide/finalizing-setup

are they really needed if the only plugin I'm going to be using is nonpdrm? can i just install it like i did before?

6.in section 3 for uninstalling enso, i think i've deleted the enso bubble, any help with how to uninstall it?

any other additional help/insight would be amazing,
sorry for the long post and thanks!

Set up CFW using H-Encore and Install Enso and then use StorageMgr Plugin , you can set the PSVSD as ux0.

Most of what I need clarification on is in regards to already having a psvsd installed with games, adrenaline and etc.

thanks for the reply, more detailed information in regards to what i asked would also be appreciated

Well ps vita game can only be run off from ux0, which you can either use SD2Vita, PSVSD, or Sony Memory card as that partition. Usbmc was used to install PSVSD and external HDD prior to Storagemgr being released.

PSP/PS1 games and other emulation games can be run off uma0, vita games can't be run off uma0.

hey sorry to kind of go another direction but it seems like theres 2 different ways to update to 3.65? one is the h-encore method through the vita.hacks guide and an older somewhat easier way that used to be on the vita.hacks guide?

the second one i'm talking about is what was referenced in the other gbatemp thread gbatemp.net/threads/anyone-with-a-psvsd-update-to-3-65-yet.499161/#post-7884166 and here gbatemp.net/threads/henkaku-enso-for-3-65-released.498532/

and by the flow here TheOfficialFloW/update365 (still can't link)

but it doesn't seem to be the current way through h-encore?

what's the difference between the 2 if you don't mind answering?

Prior to h-encore release, update to 3.65 cfw was only available to people that were on 3.60 enso, as the updater update the system firmware to 3.65 and keep the cfw where it was one way trip if people mess up they can brick the console. Regarding the thread about the person asking about the PSVSD, the fl0w 365updater requires a Sony Memory card for 1000 series, phat model.

H-encore is just a homebrew enabler just like henkaku, where enso is the permanent cfw modification allowing Coldboot so you don't have to rerun henkaku / h-encore every Coldboot.

If you are on 3.60 at the moment you can either do the 365updater thing or the firmware update first, then install h-encore then enso.
Ill give it a shot follow this video here /watch?v=3am4UoUhYR4 (youtube) because they have the old vitahacks guide on screen (although the directions differ a bit from theFLows?)
anyways, thanks for the clearing things up a bit!

YouTube video guide tend to outdated and missing steps.
would you recommend following the flow's setup on github or just going with the guide on vitahacks through h-encore?
i should mention that theFLow has this written at the top
"This software is outdated, please use the real enso installer"
which just leads to another page on github with an enso.vpk, which isnt mentioned in his guide anywhere.

Probably just do the H-encore method, by following the vita hacking guide. https://vita.hacks.guide/get-started

Don't worry about it, if there is stuffs you don't understand you can asks on the forum. 3.60 and 3.65 can play 3.67/3.68 games by using the compatible pack.
