Hacking Question Would you like to use TX SX Pro to boot Lakka?

Hey there..

I'm thinking about installing Lakka, so it would be a cool thing to be able to boot it from TX SX Pro

So as far as I know it is NOT possible atm.

Would you use it? How big is the demand? Is it technically possible?

@TX what are your plans? @Lakka-Devs what are your plans?

uhmm i dont know if you can run it via other payloads, never tried. Also it doesnt support exFat ( that is the format that needs Sx cFW

So you don't really need to boot into SX OS, right?
Maybe you could program some dialogue for changing the SD-Card before booting into Lakka with the Dongle (?)
I mean right from the SXOS menu-screen (Power+Volume Button)

(I don't judge no one .. no offense .. just thirsty for some info )

I can totally understand when Lakka-Devs don't want to be on TX's feature list (what means they can make more money with SX Pro) ..

But yeah .. would be super cool anyways (for me the user).

we can already boot other payloads from tx, and we can even convert a payload to tx's boot.dat so our new payload boots straight away.

I won't bother adding support or working with them as they will do it themselves once an open source solution comes out. That's how TX works right ?

You keep missing it, tx have allowed booting other payloads since release.
Or am I the one miss something? (I've never booted lakka)

No. Linux is currently a two stage boot.

Any technical explenation why ?

If you follow the Lakka guide (https://lakka-switch.github.io/documentation/installation.html) you will come to the section where you need to download the boot-scripts.
There is also a folder: "payloads" .. But I guess that alone will not be enough...

You can use the SX Pro to inject, then go to Options > Load External Payload > Hekate, and from there load Lakka. I've just done this myself and it works. I copied the boot.dat and license over from my exfat formatted card to my fat32 formatted card. I also had to copy over the hekate_ipl.ini too.
