Hacking Getting 3DS to whitelist DS flashcarts/Running .nds on AceKard 2i

A few years ago, my dad did a hack on my 3DS and my brother's 3DS to run .nds on an AceKard 2i flashcart. My 3DS was running 4.3.0 at the time, and was not sure if it was running any kind of CFW or hack, other than ndsbootstrap(i think.) My sister updated my 3ds causing me to lose the accessibility to the AceKard 2i. I am now trying to get my 3DS to whitelist it again, or at least show. I am running 11.7 with Luma 3ds at 9.0. I hacked mine on 11.6, without using a cartridge, but using the seedminer method.


ALSO NOTE: My brother's 3DS still had accessibility to the AceKard 2i before I hacked his. However, I did not update his 3DS before doing the hack, but only after. His 3DS somehow still detects the AceKard, or whitelists it. It does not His 3DS is running 11.6 with Luma 3DS 9.0 (and still shows the AceKard 2i), and I hacked it when it was on 4.3. (I am unsure of what method I used, probably ntrboot.)

Is there anyway for me to whitelist the cartridge, like my brother's 3DS does? Can i copy files from his 3DS to mine? Please help me! Thank you!

This only applies when the Acekard 2i is in an NDS or custom firmware 3DS! While the ntrboot exploit is installed to the Acekard 2i, it will be unable to launch .nds files on DSi or stock 3DS systems." I have restored the AceKard's flash, and will still not load to the menu. Do i have to be on 4.3.0 to make it work? Or is there a way to make it work on 11.6?

and since it does show up on my brother's 3DS, is there any way to get it to load into the AKAIO menu? Because when ever I try to launch it, it's completely blank, but when ever I press any button, it goes back to the home menu.

sure that ntrboot was also removed correctly. If necessary, use the recovery files in the manual.

After the recovery, check the micro SD card of your Acecard for the current firmware (eg AKAIO 1.9.0):

Alternatively, regardless of the Acekard, do you test whether other Nintendo DS (lite) games or DSi games work? Unless; please use this guide, after that the old Nintendo DS games should work again (as well as the whitelist of Flashcards).

Ok, I tried the troubleshooting part in 3ds.hacks.guide, where i downlaod the 5 cias, on my brothers device, and works just fine. it boots from home menu, not needing a launcher. Where as i did everything i did to his on mine, it still would not show. So problems im thinking of, something still needs to be done, or the card slot is damaged.

do me a favor and try a real ds game and report the results . . . this will help determine the root of the problem

i... don't exactly have one. if this helps, i have to tap the back of my 3ds to get it to detect some of my 3ds cartridges, so it may be damage, or it may be the card.

Also, on TWLoader, i did manage to get it to detect the acekard, by putting a 3ds cartridge in, removing it, then putting the acekard in.

the 3ds in general has a slot too wide for the contacts of your flashcard to be read by the console (yours sounds like it has damage widening the gap) the solution is to cut a playing card (i used a first edition base set charazard) and insert it into the flashcard behind the contacts like in these pics

Ok, did that, and surprisingly, it detected. but got an odd result tho, and wont launch. the cartridge icon isn't exactly corrupt, as it changes every time a title pops up. as in image 2, its made of a collage of different titles, if you can see. when i try to launch, i get an ErrDisp card removed. so do i need to put something thicker in the card? or do something firmware wise?

My acekard2i works on my brand new n3dsxl updated to 11.8 with luma 9.1 b9s. It wasn’t detecting the cart at first, so I’m not sure if the ds cart whitelist cia did it or if reinserting it a few times did it.

If it matters, my 2i has the latest firmware which is the cart showing as the pippa funnell game. I’m not sure if a 3ds can update it, I did it on my dslite which I sold off a long time ago.

If all else fails, get the r4i gold 3ds plus at nds-card.com. I got it to hack my 3ds but it also works well for ds games, has no time bomb, and works on all fw.

There’s also the dsimenuplusplus way so you don’t even need a flash cart.

i wounder if the new luma is the problem . . . luma is supposed to patch the whitelist on the automatically

it can but in that case he will need a working ds flashcard to run the updater

If all else fails, get the r4i gold 3ds plus st nds-card.com. I got it to hack my 3ds but it also works well for ds games, has no time bomb, and works on all fw.

right but if the problem lies within the 3ds and not the flashcard then it two will be useless best to attempt to resolve the current issue first

hw81. ntrboot says hw41 is uncompatible.

Use the following fix for the Acekard 2i, this will ensure that the Acekard is also recognized as a real one.
Pack the files onto the SD card of your 3DS (with CFW) and start the Luma Payload "Decrypt9WIP".
Then select "NDS Flashcart Options" and "Flash AK2i" and press <A> to start the flash process.

Should not it help; then your TWL of the 3DS is broken.
evl. previously installed TWL loader or DSiMenu++ firmware delete (uninstall) via FBI "Titles" and then repeat the following tutorial again:

just note the TWL firmware from old3DS (Old_3DS TWL_FIRM - v8817.cia) or new3DS (New_3DS TWL_FIRM - v9936.cia) install (NOT BOTH).

could very well be and as i dont know what titles/revision you had/replaced my suggestion is a blanket solution. while you could use fbi to look at all the titles installed on your nand one at a time remove the problem files and replace them by hand, its much simpler to ctr transfer a lower fw image onto your 3ds then update. note my advice/solution is often used as a last resort but in my opinion why waste time fixing the individual files and risking more error along the way when you could remove and and replace in 1 step and so i suggest you do the following CTRTransfer - 3DS Hacks Guide except dont use godmode9 instead use decrypt9 to for the transfer (gm9 has safety checks in place and wont overwrite a title it thinks is correct to avoid this we use d9)

or another save manager . . . just in case
