nds-bootstrap loader: Run commercial NDS backups from an SD Card

nds-bootstrap:

Thanks to the work of ahezard, Gericom, Apache, Robz8, _catcatcat, and shutterbug2000 and other contributors, we can now load NDS games from the SD card, without any flashcard/SLOT-1 card.

Don't expect high compatibility, but do expect many, many updates.

Also, I just learned something intresting. It seems like with DS games that use infared features (Pokémon) you can actually use them with a Rom to a real cartridge if you have ANY infared DS game inserted in the system playing the rom (Tested with Black 2 rom and Soul Silver cartridge and was able to connect to White 2 cartridge).

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Theoretically, you might beable to use the Pokéwalker with a HG/SS rom if you have a DS cartridge that uses infared inserted..?
Yes! That was added in version 0.6.0 and it should theoretically work.

  • Sorry my mobile made me write wrong: with TWL its runs normal WITHOUT freezes.
Is this true, because I thought I tried both speed options and still freezes (dsimenu++).
Update: This is actually true. I've just tested again with TWLoader, using higher speed and can pass the opening scene without any problems!

Yep the game has about 5 anti piracy measures in it. The only available patch just removes the first ap. No idea why there is not a patch available for the rest of the ap measures.
Every kernel at the time updated to get past the other AP's, so there was no need to patch any further.

Does anyone have a link for the Dragon Quest VI ap patch? Its not in the ds-scene rom tool database or the odrive folder. I dug around but only found an old filetrip link thats long since been dead.
edit: nvm, the openpatch application worked! no clue why i was still stuck on the prologue loop the first time, but i patched it again with a clean rom and it worked.

Sometimes the older rom is the problem. By the way, there is a web site with prepatched roms. Search on google
