i used my own zelda CERT on card1, i have try only one time to play online (with street fighter 30th and only for testing and it works)
But now : Online restricted by nintendo.... but i can play with my legit splatoon 2 game (in SX Firme and Originale Firm)
so idk why

They banned your cert because you mismatched it. Not your console.

I'm wondering if anyone has been cert banned for using a matching cert on a backup. Also what does Nintendo do if only 2 were online playing with the same cert, do they actually cert ban that or leave it be.

One person was with a Mariokart 8 Deluxe dump which may or may not be an outlier. Can't remember the dude's name for the life of me, but its in the spreadsheet...somewhere...

As for your other point, I hope that they would ban both because that is literally impossible without hacking the console but feel free to test it out and report back the results for anyone willing to try.

What happens if I backup a game with its certificate and then sell it? Do either one of us get banned or does Nintendo give us both a pass? I sold mario kart 8 but can still play online using sx os.

Like stated earlier, there should be no problems as long as whoever eventually buys it doesn't decide to go online at the same time as you do. Or worse, he may repeat what you did further increasing the potential number of people going online with that certificate. Its risky if you want to play online with that certificate to say the least.

I could see them maybe cert banning the cert, but a console ban wouldn't make sense for 2 using the same cert on a game because of used games and rentals. Someone that hasn't modded their console would be unjustly banned.

Well I doubt he'd get sx os too but there always is a chance. Even if Nintendo does ban the cert I'm sure it wouldn't affect me since I can always get it from another source.

Well as you said you mismatched the cert from Zelda to SF, I am sure that is detected by Nintendo and the cert was banned for that reason.

That's why I like the idea of using certificate bans over console bans. Not everyone who has gotten a certificate ban has gotten a console ban.

It might evolve into a never-ending goose chase for non-banned certificates that eventually leaves the whole used-games marketplace with banned games, but that's a little extreme. It could also be a parent of a child who is confused why their game is not letting their child go online to play which could lead into a whole slew of problems.

Agreed. Hopefully Nintendo doesn't go on a full scale crackdown on the used game market. Even if they do I guess buying a few Nintendo titles like smash and pokemon seem reasonable for online play. Use Sx Os for offline titles and DLC. Just need to wait for xecuter to release their native nsp installer and then we've hit gold.

UPDATE: Nintendo has confirmed that all upcoming switch consoles will patch the Tegra X1 exploit. So the switches we currently have will most likely be the only exploitable ones out there. Should I create a thread about this?

But that aint Safe yet either or am i wrong?
You can still get console banned Using SX os offline and then going online With Ur legit cards on ofw because of the Data that the switch sends to the Nintendo Server the Moment you Go online or am i mistaken?

You are most likely mistaken about that. I have been playing online using my own backups without a hitch. Also I am always connected to the internet via Wifi 24/7 even when playing pirated games (note: I never play them online). However don't quote me on this in case you get into trouble

Source? And just to confirm, its a different news announcement than the one from this thread? https://gbatemp.net/threads/psa-reports-of-fusee-gelee-patched-units-in-the-wild.510927/

If so, I would say its worth making a new thread. At the very least, you can post your source in the thread I linked above.

There appears to be no mention of Nintendo saying any of the information written in the article. Instead, it seems to be borrowing the same information that we've been using to report that there are Switches now in circulation with the exploit patched.
but it says people have found patched consoles invulnerable to homebrew exploits. Only time will tell if this is legit or not but I think its safe to assume it is. There were leaks in the past (I believe from SciresM) suggesting Nintendo was working on fixing the exploit so it could be possible they pulled it off.

Again, we are all working off of the same information when it comes to these reports. There is a large difference between user-generated reports and official statements made by Nintendo. Obviously, certain news outlets would love to capitalize on something like this as they are usually anti-hacking. But the problem remains that there is no official proof of this, just people parroting what others have stated via word of mouth.

If that's the case then maybe this was a false alarm. Also why do you think Nintendo needs to announce something like this? Isn't it best they keep it inside. Lets see what happens in the future
