I THINK average

that because crapcom decided to nerf the pc mustard race version on purpose to not overshame $ony's shitty hardware.
Capcom has a history of half assing every PC port to date.. I'd hope they'd have taken better care with their most important one yet. FFS

I really have a hard time understanding how 30 fps make games unplayable... I mean, is it that important to get 60 fps? Gamewise, what advantages does 60 fps have over 30 fps? Yes, animation looks more fluid, but it's not like 30 fps is garbage or unplayable ...

Being a Japanese developer, they probably don't have much experience with PC. That's likely why they don't want to bite off more than they can chew in the graphics department, we'd end up with more delays and poorer optimization regardless. That said, this better run buttery smooth with sharpened console graphics.

30 FPS isn't unplayable for me, but it is clearly noticeable and it does occasionally throw off my timing. It's made God of War and Bloodborne slightly more difficult than they need to be.

There's an odd excuse if I've heard one. Oh well. If it doesn't meet the PC gaming requirements you know it's gonna be a shit show. Not saying graphics=everything.. Just as long as we have extensive options, as it runs well. We'll be fine.

Now people can use Reshade on it so it doesn't look like you're playing inside a cloud. Like the fantastic Clarity Pack for BotW that also gets rid of the incredibly fugly blanket of fog when playing it on Cemu.

Yeah it does look like some of the effects quality has been improved at the very least, and PS4/XB1 were probably only playing the game at around medium settings in the engine to begin with. So we'll see some improvement regardless. Always something that can be polished further post-launch.

FFS, all japanese devs were focused on developing games on console cauz how easy the pc's piracy. and they always put pc gamers at least, now thing are changed on how fast pc HW improve in few years and console will never able to catch it. just take other japanese company like Fromsoft, their last pc ports are always superior than console ones.

Crapcom shall take notes from others FFS

I played some Monster Hunter games on PSP back in the day and really enjoyed them. Looking forward to being able to play with a mouse and keyboard.

To be fair, the Dark Souls port was bad. People desperately wanted the series on PC, though, so it still sold really well. Only took eight console generations for Japanese developers to figure out that PC was a whole lot of extra revenue they were missing out on. Better late than never I guess.

but they did great about ds2SOTFS and DS3. even the original ds2 for PC runs flawlessly at 60fps. well yeah, japanese devs really took too much to realize that.

My current rig looks like it's middling around recommended specs. Unfortunately, targeting 30 fps is an absolute "NO" from me, so I think I'll be waiting to upgrade my stuff before buying this game, if at all. That it sounds to be the same old clunky combat does put me off a touch, but if there will be people to play with, I'm thinking I'll just go for it all the same. Dark Souls 2 has taught me that the most absurd bullshattery can become a gas with co-op, so I'm optimistic.

Fast paced action games benefit from a stable, high FPS. 30fps is totally fine for games, and it's not really "unplayable" so long as it's stable...but Monster Hunter World doesn't have a stable FPS whatsoever (on either platform), which is a huge issue and can make the game very unplayable in certain circumstances.

Its certainly playable at 30 fps, for sure. I mean I clocked 50 some hours on the PS4. The issue here is that its not locked to any specific framerate meaning that sometimes you get spikes to where you probably get close to 60 fps for a second or 2 even on OG hardware. Its a silly problem to have and looks bad.

How much it affects games for me is somewhat variable. For example, while it gives me a headache, Breath of the Wild was still very much enjoyable for me even at 30fps, whereas I actually hated Hyper Light Drifter before its 60fps update. It was the first game to show me how the 30-60 gap could actually ruin a game's balance and functionality, rather than just be a minor annoyance. To answer you, though, framerate is absolutely integral when you're trying to interpret motion and read attack windups from enemies, so in action games, it's critical. Being at 30 fps also puts a very hard limit on just how fast, how regular/easy to understand the acceleration of enemy attacks, and how well telegraphed in general any actions/projectiles are in a game, giving less room for variability and creativity while still keeping things fair for the player, or so I find. It also makes environmental set-pieces absolutely impossible to see if the camera speed goes beyond anything other than a mild drift, which greatly impacts how quickly and easily one could go about exploring. Even going from an unlocked framerate with Ni no Kuni II to 60 locked in Dark Souls 3 is a bit of a transition, as I find I need to subtly start adjusting how I look for tells in enemy attacks.

I can't say I have many issues with monster Hunter world, I have an xbox one s and it felt fairly smooth for me for the most part for where it's at now. Sunk about 120 hours as it is. Dont think I'll swap to play it on pc though, ive got a computer that can handle it but unless its cross plat save with xbox its not worth it to start over for me.

Because input timing, that's why is important. Most games that run 60FPS has better responsive controls cause the game responds to every other input after the first one. So example is the game would respond to 2-3 frame inputs. Games running at lower framerates would not have as much tight controls cause of this. 30FPS games have longer response for input.

To be simple about this. Play a 60 FPS game. (easier to demonstrate with emulator) If I want to rapidly press the same button over and over, I can much better since it register input every other frame. (Hold 1 frame , release 1 frame, hold 1 frame) in that pattern. On 30FPS it may take up to 5 extra frames to register input because the game isn't accepting any inputs for some frames. So rapidly pressing a single button the way i explained just now would sometimes not always be accurate and would find that it actually more accurate to do it at a slower and more specific timing rhythm for games with lower framerates.

This makes action based games important to aim for better framerates. Input timing isn't as noticeable to some people because they either adapt to it or don't really understand it or just don't care. But It's interesting to note.

I'm actually sad that it's coming so soon. I was hoping it would arrive around the end of the year when it's cold, so I don't have to worry about my PC overheating. Have to make use of nature when you can.
