Online Action Game 'Warframe' Coming to Nintendo Switch

Warframe, an online cooperative sci-fi action game is set for a Nintendo Switch release. Canadian developer and publisher Digital Extremes made the announcement for the Switch version during this year's TennoCon expo, the annual Warframe convention.

The Nintendo Switch port will be handled by Panic Button, the studio that brought Rocket League and Doom to the same console.

Warframe was initially released back in 2013 as a free-to-play title for PCs and then got subsequent PS4 and Xbox One releases and has since garnered more than 38 million registered players worldwide.

Synopsis:
They were called Tenno. Warriors of blade and gun: masters of the Warframe armor. Those that survived the old war were left drifting among the ruins. Now they are needed once more.

The Grineer, with their vast armies, are spreading throughout the solar system. A call echoes across the stars summoning the Tenno to an ancient place. They summon you.

Allow the Lotus to guide you. She has rescued you from your cryostasis chamber and given you a chance to survive. The Grineer will find you; you must be prepared. The Lotus will teach you the ways of the Warframes and the secrets to unlocking their powers.

Come Tenno, you must join the war.

The Nintendo Switch version of Warframe does not have a release date yet and is currently labelled as "In Dev" on the official website.

Also I found this:
Players on the PC may be interested to know that there is the possibility of logging into their accounts on the Switch. I asked Creative Director Steve Sinclair about the possibility of crossplay or one time transfer between platforms for those who want to play on the Switch. Sinclair told me that it won’t be possible for the PlayStation 4, but it could possibly be worked out for the XBox, and it would be a breeze for the PC. He continued by saying that he was very interested in looking into making it so players cold seamlessly move between play on the PC and the Switch. That could mean easily taking your Warframe on the go, be it travel for work, leisure, or just because.

WARFRAME on pc is gorgeous with all graphic effects ON and set the game 120/144hz, IT'S VERY FASTPACED and just for once, i tried to play it with a Xbox controller and it was a nightmare to aim, devs shall implement/improve aim-assist for console players.

Will it run 30hz on Switch?

FPS = frames per second (e.g. frame rate), specifically for video/images
Hz = rate per second, in general.
So, a frame rate of 30 Hz and 30 FPS have exactly the same meaning.

no they don't you can have a game that runs on 60hz and its a 30fps game or heck back in the day in europe all games runned on 50hz modes and their framerates were from 20 to 30 on n64 and ps1 or even 60.

hz is not fps, just becuase a game dips fps on certain scenes the hz are always the same and dont dip at all.

There is no such thing as 30hz display at all but there is 30 fps.

You're confusing the frame rate of the game with the frame rate of the monitor/screen. These are completely unrelated, other than that the lowest of the two decides what you actually see.

like i said even if the switch version runs at 30 fps you cant say its running 30hz its 30 fps on a 60hz display it just doesnt update 60 times, but the hz are not 30.

Back on the day gc games had a hz mode select (some),you could pick on Pal versions due to old tvs not supporting 60hz so back then you could ask if it was a 60hz mode compatible game or not even tough the game wasnt 60 fps lol so even if you picked 60 hz the games were 30 fps and such with some rare occasions.

Like I said, you're confusing the frame rate of the game with the frame rate of the monitor/screen.
Screens run at a steady rate (which can be expressed either in Hz or FPS, since they are the same thing) by design. This rate can be configured, but unless the screen changes modes it will keep running at that rate. The mode the screen is put in, is negotiated between the screen and the source device (e.g. your game console), but this is completely unrelated to the rate at which the source device sends (new) frames to the screen.
That latter rate, is what people refer to as the frame rate of a game (again, expressed either in Hz or FPS).

Yes, before HDMI was a thing and people used component and composite video connections, there was the whole 50/60 Hz/FPS problem, since depending on where you lived those connections had to run at a mandatory rate of 50 or 60 Hz/FPS (again, unrelated to what the game actually outputs).
Back then, both the game (software) and console (hardware) had to support the correct display rate, to activate that mode on the output screen. This is because older consoles had no operating system: the game was the operating system itself, while it was running. Nowadays with HDMI, the supported rate (and resolution) is no longer software related and the hardware of the console's GPU and the hardware of the screen work out the possible settings, while the operating system lets you pick which one of those to actually use.

Because of the latter improvements, nobody talks about the screen rate anymore except for in the specs of screens. You can safely assume that any mention of FPS/Hz when related to video games, is about the rate the frames are created (what you are calling "FPS"), not the rate they are outputted (what you are calling "Hz" here, and is no longer interesting to mention).
Either way, both of those rates can be expressed either in FPS or Hz, since they mean the same thing in this context.

Hope that clears up your confusion!

Well well well. Sony's being left in the dust in regards to crossplay, again.

Anyways, heard of this game, gonna check up some gameplay and see if it'd be something i'd play.

Is this game fun? Seem like popular games I hear about all the time are getting put on this system (Even though is already been on ps4 and xbox) but I just think it's cause how many players they have trying to pick up more on other platforms. :ninja:

Warframe is a really fun free game on pc, but I dont know how the smooth combat with a mouse will translate to a controller

I found out about this game while someone was streaming the latest story DLC, and the combat, gameplay, and story drew me in. I was so excited for the excitement the streamer had when a plot twist happened so I wanted to experience the game for myself. I love it so far and it’s so easy to matchmake with almost every mission. It’s also different enough from Destiny to where you won’t feel like they are the same.

I was even more excited because I was wondering when this was coming to the Switch, and yesterday during the Tennocon stream, I jumped out of my skin at the trailer notification.

So if you haven’t picked this up now is a good time to come in. There are a number of guides to help you through the game.
