This guide is for users that have been banned but never downloaded pokemon quest
This will work with other titles and demos
Devmenu will only work with pokemon quest as donor

Requirements:

• Switch firmware 5.1.0
• eXhop or similar tool
• Internet

Instructions:

PC

• Goto nintendo.com and search for pokemon quest
• purchase it (free)
  • if your system is banned it will not push to your console

Switch

• run eXhop now and download (you will need titleid)

or​

• Go to your user/profile (left top of screen)
• Go to User Settings and select, Update Download Progress

Beforehand; This is for the grey area people like me who actually buy all their games but have run into a ban recently.

Ok this might be good to note;
A console eshop ban sucks BUT downloading games from the eshop is still possible without any tricks and through normal Nintendo ways;

1 - Just purchase the game you want through your pc using your Nintendo ID on the Nintendo eshop.
2 - Then on your banned Switch; Go to your user/profile (left top of screen)
3 - Go to User Settings and select, Update Download Progress
And voila your game will still download to your console just fine. (have tried this with 3 titles just to be sure)

This makes the whole ban a bit better for me ... sure I miss online stuff that way.
But no fiddling with CDN downloaders title ids and so on.

Now you will own your own copy of legal copy Pokemon Quest

Firmware 4.1 won't work because the Switch needs to connect online to verify that you "purchased" Pokemon Quest and it won't connect without updating to the latest firwmare.

Although if someone could try it out and prove me wrong, by all means go ahead.

I got DevMenu running over Mario Odyssey.
And if you go in your user settings, and "refresh download status" (or whatever it is called in english) it'll start downloading, so no need for eXhop

You got it running over cart odyssey or digital odyssey? If its a cart, so you mind sharing that? or telling me how you did it? Everytime I try on a cart it corrupts my saves

I tried on the cart version .. And i did nothing more than using the classic method for layeredFS, i have both the save for SMO and FE Warriors when i dump my save (i played FE as well over odyssey). I don't know why it corrupts your save :o

So you are able to use the cart version to load the devmenu? Mind sharing the odyssey devmenu that you have in pm? I tried cave story and mario kart so far I think. either that or Odyssey.... but they just crash and corrupt my saves.... I didn't back them up

See I did too. They all crashed HARD. but @Mat37 has one thats working with a manual edit. So I think its the website doing it... Im just gonna load it up and mess with it. ALOT

It did not work with devmenu at least for the titles i tried. The only thing I could think of was the offset is diff or their is more that needs to be changed
It worked for all other layeredfs title I used but not for devmenu

Wait wtf i wanted to patch the Hyrule Warriors NPDM with the Pinball FX3 titleID (to test the patching) and it returned me the exact same file (it was already patched with the SMO titleID but it shouldn't matter

When devmenu gets released and everyone was saying it only worked with pokemon quest i was the guy that didn't want to do like everyone and it wend ahead any did it on SMO

You only edited main.npdm? The website doesnt work with devmenu's main. Patches but title doesnt launch

Yeah only main.npdm. Idk if there are others versions around, but i have an exefs folder and a romfs folder
