Hey,

For those who aren't familiar with OpenRCT, it's an open source reimplementation of Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 that uses assets from the original game while providing all new code. It is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
Would it be possible for this to be ported to the Nintendo switch?

I also started looking into this yesterday after reading about SDL2. I think the switch might actually be my jumpstart into the homebrew dev world. Definitely not with this though lol.

So glad to see someone else thinking about this though!

Hi, OpenRCT2 dev here.
No, we do not require OpenGL, you can disable it at compile time. All the rendering is done single-threaded in software. WereW working on improving that, contributions welcome.
There have already been ports to other hw (including ps vita, Wii and I think 3ds), much less capable than switch.

I take it this is being bumped because of the OpenTTD port just released. :lol:

FWIW, I did try to message the Reddit account responsible but got no reply. Unfortunately.
It seems that this is more or less dead until further notice, which makes me sad. Hopefully we can get a statement about a possibility of a port either from that Reddit account or the actual OpenRCT team.
