The Switch will be my second Nintendo console to play after the SNES and I am thankful to Nintendo for making this handheld marvel available to me. Back in the days, I did not get to play the Wii U so there's that.

I like how you guys bitch and whine about a console that leans towards kids, and children friendly content. A Common sense-d Parent isn't going to buy their kid a ps4 with Gta-V, they are gonna go with the child friendly looking Italian. Though I'd rather new games, Ports are fine, Not everyone had a wii u to play these games, and even if they did, it's nice to have them portable form, and fixed up a bit. (Bought Mario Kart 8 dx, and I have already played it more than the wii u version, because I can play it anywhere) Super Smash bros covers the larger audience, and they are still working on Mp4, so why would they show a broken game, when they can just hold it off for now. Games take forever to make, and you should actually be happy they are not rushing it, and actually taking their time with the game, instead of rushing it, and reaping the benefits(Like Fed force)

As I mentioned XC2 is a great game, and the only reason I got the Switch.
Bayonetta 3, Metroid 4, Pokemon let's go aren't even released yet. And not even mentioned on E3, that's why many people is so disappoined.


I won't go into details, but just to let you know the difference between a new game and updated game, a new game offers new story, new music, new gameplay, new levels, that when I just look at it I should recognize it if it's part1 or part2.
An updated game is just the same old game with few changes, which didn't even cost half of the first game.
You have mentioned the last of us, the difference between 1 and 2 is huge, it's a new story, new characters, new ost, new voice actors, new graphics and even a new engine, it cost much money and time to finish this gem.
Do you seriously compare it to splatoon?

At the end it's not my fault that I own the Wiiu and played all those games that Nintendo ported to the Switch just because some others didn't play them on the Wiiu.
I brought the Switch to play new games, not 2 good games and the rest just ports or mobile games.

The Switch, a handheld marvel??? The Iphone 8 is more powerful than the switch, and has most of the same games available to it through the app store. You can even make phone calls, and take pictures with the Iphone. Try doing that on the Switch. The Wii U is still the best console Nintendo has ever made simply because it is capable of playing just about every game Nintendo has ever made over the past 30 years. The only games that it can't play are the 3 or 4 that are exclusive to the Switch.

And yes, there are no limits to innovation. People have been asking that question since ancient times, and look where we are today. What we have today will look primative 500 years from now. The pace of innovation may slow down at times, but it will never stop.

I have also removed shit games (knack, knack 2), shovelware (VR and Joycon based gimmicks), and remasters and re-releases that change nothing (all Wii U ports, and gravity rush and the last of us etc).
The depth and breadth of the PS4 lineup demolishes that of the Switch, it gets much much worse when you add in non-exclusives.
My main issue with the switch is that every time Nintendo have a successful console they flood it with gimmicks and shovelware and pander to the casual audience. it is only when they have their backs to the wall when we get GameCube libraries.

Well, you forgot to remove 2 PS4 remasters of the list (and no, there are no real changes to SotC's gameplay. You can change the button configuration this time, but, besides the camera control, the game still plays like the same) . Not counting the two "stand-alone DLCs" (and I'll not talk about DOAX3...), expanded remakes and the lifetime of each console.

The thing is, I'm not complaining about personal preferences here, but it's not exactly possible to compare the experience that each game provides. For an example, to say that games like Killzone: Shadow Fall and The Order: 1886 are way better than anything on the Switch side can only be a joke in my opinion. DriveClub is just OK, and The Last Guardian is way below expectations. As you included games yet to be released, you forgot some of the Switch titles like No More Heroes, Demon X Machina, Fire Emblem: TTH, Shin Megami Tensei 5 and Bayonetta 3 for example.

In my opinion, you're mistaking quality with technical values. Both consoles have great games, but provides different experiences. You can't just judge which is better or worse based on this alone. In the end, the personal preferences will be the decisive factor. Instead of comparing them, just play both of them. 8D

Wow... You completely missed the point. You're right, you could look dumb. Is a PC a hand held device??? The discussion was about hand held devices, and whether the Switch is even remotely close to a hand held marvel, when you have many hand held devices today that are just as capable.

Let's be honest. The Switch is a portable console, and a powerful one at that, but it's not meant to compete with the PS4 or Xbox One in terms of raw power (and hey, if you want to get a system for its raw power, you'd pick neither of those lmao). But the Switch is massively successful exactly because it offers something the competition cannot. The games do run acceptably on the Switch, and it's a fairly small, portable system.

GPD Win is a nice handheld to have, but fair enough. What I ment by my post is that I could compare things ad infinitum by your logic. The iPhone 8 is a phone that plays games, and that's fine. The other user said the Switch is a marvel because it is a handheld that can play games a fixed console have on their belt, and that's fine too. You can agree, you can not agree. You missed his point, just as you said I missed yours.

Switch's lineup keeps getting better. No, it hasn't outdone a console that's been out five times longer YET. But it's a better purchase. You'll get more out of it.
