I love how you try to discredit someone that actually contributed to the scene over something you know nothing about. Seems legit.
You don't think there's any chance that Shiny is possible biased against ReSwitched/Atmosphere after being kicked out?

Also, who cares about the code-base? That's not "evidence" of Atmosphere being better or worse than SX OS. It could have terrible code but be better in many ways - or vice versa.

It will be this month.

Within a year garyopa will have to hack a different console again. Hopefully one where the hardware is actually needed and not a license/DRM.

I like how this thread is just speculation lmao

I'm not sure TX SX will be better than Atmosphere. But I think almost everything in this forum about Atmosphere is speculation, "release soon", "free", "someone will make backup games work on Atmo", "coldboot".

>release soon

Speculation

>free

Not speculation, it's open source

>someone will make backups work

Not speculation. Atmosphere supports homebrew and installing homebrew out of the box, all we need is someone to make a title installer like FBI on the 3ds.

>coldboot

speculation

My CFW of choice is better than yours.

Who gives a crap? I honestly think that as soon as there is a lul in news on this site someone comes along and thinks what bullshit can I post today that will upset people????? I know I will post an unfounded, uncredited, highly inflammatory opinion of my own and pass it off as fact. That ought to do it.

Why not just WAIT until both CFW's are released then make decisions based on the feature set available to you and how it works according to your needs?? I know that Atmosphere will not have a Backup Loading solution at launch before anyone comments on that, but that's not to say it never will.

That's too simple for some people, I realise that but a guy can dream can't he?

Atmosphere being open source and supporting homebrew = backup loader will come relatively soon.

To be fair, that only applies if people maintaining the code / the community based around it care about making it better.

Right you are, but usually where there's a will there's a way. A decent amount of people are working on quite a few things already... Mostly waiting on a permanent platform before bigger things are launched, and more things are hashed out. Like... I could think of all kinds of ways to expand Love Potion, and it hasn't even been out long.

Anybody who wants updates and fixes sooner rather than later...Going back and fixing bad code can be time-consuming.

The way it typically works is that stuff you pay for is better at first only to obsulated later by people who work on things because they actually want to.

Yea it's a time/money thing. Atmosphere is being developed by a team working for free. Their incentive to finish very quickly isn't nearly that of TX.

If they're lucky, SX OS will be the go-to CFW for weeks/months, which makes it definitely worth the price for some people. Gateway 3DS was the go-to CFW for years, and it was definitely worth the price for some people. Eventually, however, SX OS will become as insignificant as Gateway 3DS is now. People always go for the free alternatives, and open-source software always ends up being better eventually.

Once the SX OS stops selling, support and development will cease.

Am I the one that need to say it? Sigh.... Who gives a flying fuck. If they work, good. If the code is garbage it can be improved.
Exactly. Benefits of open source, and once the code is in place, even intermediate coders can contribute to new commits.
