All right. I've made a (temporary?) fork for the purpose of keeping this project alive. If anyone has conversations they'd like to contribute, feel free to send them my way.
As a quick refresher, every Shiro, Kiragi, Asugi, Selkie, Hisame and Mitama conversation is complete. Caeldori only has Setsuna, Oboro, Selena and Nyx open (I'm planning to finish Hana/Caeldori). Everything else should be fair game.

Hello, I'm looking to apply an English patch for the DLC on my Japanese download of FE If. Is there a guide or instructions anywhere on applying the patch JPN versions of the Special Edition?

Sadly, not at the moment. Our current goal for this patch is to get it running on the North American and European versions. Japanese may come later if there's sufficient demand for it. If you'd just rather play with the original voices, an undub patch exists for those versions and this one should be fully compatible with that.

Hi there! I have been snooping around for awhile, checking on the thread every now and then. And I must say it looks great! However since progress is slow I got to thinking, what if we made this a team project? That way multiple people can work on it. It will be a whole lot easier and it will get the job done faster.

It already is a team project! At least...it was supposed to be. Or do you mean multiple people would have write access to the github? I’ll have to think about that, but for now feel free to send pull requests.

My idea is that we create a new thread for this project alone, THEN we create a thread when the project is complete releasing the hack. On the release thread we will answer questions, announce updates, and explain how to install. The Project thread is for the team members to come together and build the DLC hack. Everyone can have a certain job with the hack. We need to translate the language, build the maps for both DLC, test out the DLC, and fix any bugs/glitches. This doesn't have to be done its just that this might get the job done faster.

Ah, interesting idea. I’ll consider doing that once more people join the project.

Yes, I am the project lead now. The de facto provisional one, anyway. There’s a few additional guidelines I’d like to have, so I’ll create a thread.

Hi! Most of the hacking was already done by Silent Hell, so I don't know what would've caused the issue. But I can take a look at it for you if you'd like.

Hi there! I'd appreciate the help although I don't know what went wrong in the process either. I did the whole procedure twice to make sure that I didn't mess up somewhere but it always trips me up at the repacking(last step).

All right, I tested it out and it seems like the error is caused by the newest version of makerom v0.16 which came out this month. I switched back to the older makerom v0.15 and everything worked out fine. Sorry I don't have a better solution, but let me know if you run into any other issues.

It worked like a charm:toot:DLC is working aswell except for the fact that it's not patched/everything is displayed in japanese instead. I've redone the whole thing several times by now(probably because I pretty much learnt everything by heart by now :rofl2:) and also checked that feat did extract the translation files but nothing changes.
What I did observe(?) though is that in all attempts the game 'could not find downloadable content. Would you like to start your game with part of the save data removed?' I tried that option and went to the dragon's gate and all DLCs are there(including the festival DLCs). Though as aforementioned the festival DLCs are unpatched and are missing the icons. I've already checked the MetaContentHeader.bin and compared everything with the exact same problem/solution(?) mentioned in this thread before and nothing seems to be amiss. The only thing I noticed is that the 'missing DLC' the game refers to is probably the amiibo units I registered in my main save file(Relevations) because the issue does not appear when I load my Birthright/Conquest playthroughs. I've also grabbed both SilentHells and your version of the tranlation files to make sure that it can't be blamed on corrupted files but the result remains the same.
So based on my amateurish opinion there can't/shouldn't be any mistakes on my side until this part

  • Rebuilding the our Content Info Archive with the Icon
    1. Open up RomFS Builder.
    2. Click Open and select the ContentInfoRomFS folder.
    3. Click Go and save the file as ContentInfoRomFS.bin and save to the project directory, replacing the old one.
    4. In cmd, paste the following code: makerom -f ncch -target t -rsf DLC.rsf -icon icon.bin -romfs ContentInfoRomfs.bin -o 00000062.app This will rebuild the NCCH container with the icon.bin.

I can't think of another reason because this is the only part in which the desired icons and english patched files are rebuilt(though there is the part in which the original files are patched but that's literally just drag and drop accompanied with a confirmation notice to rewrite said files). But then again this step is just copy and paste the command which makes it even more perplexing in my eyes how I failed such a simple task.:wtf:

*edit I just realized that the amiibos can't be the issue at all because they're displayed just fine in game which shouldn't be the case if the respective DLC were missing
