LOL Here just trolling us, uh?
http://wololo.net/2018/05/24/why-th...and-why-you-should-stop-asking-for-a-release/

"You might not believe me, but the PS Vita is powerful enough to emulate the PS2, at least with a compatibility similar to, or even better than, a non-BC PS3."
Obviously Vita can't emulate ps2, now and never...

No need to get snarky.
I stand by what I said, you may wish to wait until such an emulator appears before getting too excited.

From that same link:
"Disclaimer from Wololo: for some reason this article has generated more controversy than it should have, with in particular established hackers in the Vita scene voicing their doubts that the Vita has the power to emulate the PS2. This is a reminder that opinions expressed by the bloggers on this site are their own. The article below contains AcideSnake’s opinions on some aspects of the Vita scene, and although I don’t necessarily agree with everything Acid has to say, I still find this article a great read. Please use your own judgement when reading."

I have a question about Vita RetroArch and XMB user interface:

When I am in a game, and I press the Quick Menu hotkey, the assigned "back" button takes me directly from the quick menu to the main menu. This is different from my Windows XMB Retroarch, where the back button takes me back to the same playlist scrolled to the title I was just in, which is very natural feeling and keeps me from getting lost.

Is there a setting or config entry I can set to get the same behavior in Vita retroarch XMB? It's fiddly having to flip through all the playlists and then back down to where I was if I am working my way through a particular playlist.

I'm in 1.7.3 nightly 5/21, but it's been this way for as long as I can remember. Thank you!

Enough with the off-topic discussion, thank you very much.

Can confirm. Though returning to the root menu is normal behavior, I can understand why you'd want it changed otherwise; there is no real setting to change this AFAIK.

Off topic? We talk about ps2 emulator, and this thread talk about RetroArch, a multi-platform emulator...

A PS2 emulator that isn't even based off of Libretro to begin with, which all the other emulators in the current thread are about, by the way;
And not even that. It's turned to hypotheticals about a magical super-optimized PS2 emulator made specifically for a 444mhz ARM device that not even its original creators could make, and about pointing fingers at scene members over difference in opinions. If you want to create another thread talking about making a PS2 emulator for the system, or the ethics of Acid_Snake, go ahead. But for the moment, there are no PS2 cores that run on Libretro out or otherwise in development, let alone for the Vita specifically that this thread is attempting to focus on, and I refuse to even let drama color the topic at hand.

Thank you.

Thank you. A few other things need some attention, like being able to map a modifier button. Maybe I'll see if they might welcome a contributor.

Feel free to do so! (Not sure if it's in the RetroArch repo or anything else, but feel free to either submit an issue or contribute to the codebase, wherever the relevant bits are.)

Question we use to have to close the game and exit retroarch properly after saving a game to make sure the save stays, we couldnt save the game and close retroarch or else the saves would not save.

Is that still the case?

Which build; nightly or stable?
Which emulator; FBA, FBA2012, or MAME?
Which ROMs; did you refer to the OP before making this, and are they the right ones? Use Google to find the exact ones.
What error; does it just go back to the main menu, does the emulator crash, or what?

I don't know if this asked before, but does Retroarch allow to bind key on both touchscreen and back touchpad, rather than choosing which one to use?
