Nope, sorry. If you want to launch eShop, you need to update, and then you can't downgrade cause the update burns eFuses.so i want to download xenoblade japan audio and i'm on 4.00 is there a way to get it with out updating and if i update will i lose homebrew and other future hacks
will i lose access to future hack and homebrewNope, sorry. If you want to launch eShop, you need to update, and then you can't downgrade cause the update burns eFuses.
If you're content with using a jig/AutoRCM to load CFW and homebrew, then you aren't losing anything by updating. System version 4.1.0 and lower will likely someday get an untethered softmod method of booting into CFW, and that's pretty much it.will i lose access to future hack and homebrew
You must use the eShop.and is there a way to download the audio free dlc with out eshop?
If you update now, you won't. You just have to change your Homebrew Menu file. Ask around for the link.will i lose access to future hack and homebrew

1. Wrong forum
2. Support me thread
3. Has no clue, that Nintendo will always try to tie downloadable content to the latest possible firmware (currently no workaround)
4. Has no clue about what he/she is loosing by updating to "most recent".
So lets make this another thread about "hey should I update to x, because I'm on y, because I want, but should I and would you, and what would I loose - and what if, but - then...." - because we only had several hundred of them at this point.
5. 4.2.0 Might get a non coldboot software entry point in the future, that might allow you to launch CFW without a dongle. Might take longer though. Or not. Also - thats "in the works" stuff, and as the good dame gundula, patron saint of all fortune tellers for idiot clients always used to say - if something else comes along, that might change this situation - Its hard to forsee that.
Where did you get that from? Iam not saying it's not true but it's the first time I hear about booting the CFW via the browser.1. Do not update, 4.0.0 will get a sotmod that will enable you to boot into CFW via the browser.
He is referring to this:Where did you get that from? Iam not saying it's not true but it's the first time I hear about booting the CFW via the browser.
Got some good news (sorry that it takes over a minute for the lennies): https://t.co/hGdPOchTVo

Anyway, I would strongly recommend not updating when new firmwares release.
could you elaborate on the eFuses? what does this mean?Nope, sorry. If you want to launch eShop, you need to update, and then you can't downgrade cause the update burns eFuses.
Every few system updates or so, Nintendo burns a fuse inside your Switch. This is a permanent hardware modification that cannot be undone via software hacks. When your Switch boots up, it checks the firmware with the number of fuses burnt. If they don't match, your system will not boot up. This is was implemented as a means to prevent downgrading.could you elaborate on the eFuses? what does this mean?

What makes you believe this? I have reason to believe this is not the case.If you're content with using a jig/AutoRCM to load CFW and homebrew, then you aren't losing anything by updating. so I'm still slightly confused by this one. is it the tegra itself that checks? or horizon?Every few system updates or so, Nintendo burns a fuse inside your Switch.
