Just wondering if anyone else has had their hard drive become corrupted and needing to be reinitialized since updating to 5.05 and using MIRA or Vortex Hen 1.6? MIRA would also crash my system the first 2 or 3 attempts to run it and vortex hen seemed to be more stable with executing on the first try. I've also had game save corruption which wasn't a big deal but now it seems my entire drive has become corrupted. I know there is a known issue with rest mode when running MIRA but from what I read, that vortex hen was suppose to fix that. I last ran vortex hen and put my ps4 in rest mode. Upon turning it on tonight it wouldn't load and required a power cycle. Now it says it can't start and wants to reinstall the OS. I'm about to try the update file before resorting to the recovery update as I really don't want it to format my drive and loose everything. That's just too much to get again and since my usb 3 drive died I'm not wasting countless hours reinstalling everything from a usb 2 drive. If this is what is going to happen then I might just sell it or update it and use my purchased content as this is just too much of a headache to deal with daily.

In case anyone is wondering it's a ps4 pro with a 2tb drive.

Well seems it will have to be the recovery update. Well there goes over 1.6tb of games and saves. Maybe I'll get lucky and it won't format but I doubt it.

Hen was the last payload I used and it still got corrupted. I'm going to try reinstalling the small update from recovery menu and see if that might avoid the format but I have my doubts. Fingers are crossed.

Actually think it may work. It's actually copying the file which it wouldn't do from the initial error.

Well that didn't work. It looked promising but then right back in to a disk check after installation which failed and prompted for update file again. Even tried to rebuild the database but that also failed and went right back to the disk check. Looks like it's starting from scratch for me.

Don't know if it will work but going to try putting it in my pc, making an image file of the drive, and then wiping it. Put it back in PS4 and reinstall, then put it back in my pc and write the image file to it. I'm just hoping it's not physically damaged as I even tried reinstalling the full update from recovery with no luck.

Have had a lot of headaches with Mira. Seems to be worse with ps4 pros. Vortex definitely way better.. Strange had no issues with thevps4 slim.
Hope it works out for you bro.... Best of luck.....

Thanks, I hope so too but it's not looking good. I pulled an old drive out of a ps3 and plugged it in to the ps4 and restored the system and then tried putting my 2tb back in but it's still doing the same thing. Was just being hopeful that it would fix it but if the problem is on the drive itself then I'm thinking it may have to be wiped. If I knew which partition the corrupted data was on I would just delete that partition and clone it from the now working drive and see if that could at least get me to the point that I could ftp my games over and reinstall them that way. I'll pick up a new usb 3 drive on Thursday and reinstall all my content if I can manage to find out. I'm thinking it's the larger partition on the drive but without confirmation I don't want to delete any other partitions.

Well in the end I had to wipe it. I tried dumping all of the partitions off the drive I pulled from the PS3 after installing it on the PS4 but that just made it worse. So everything gone. I'm not even gonna bother putting it back in the PS4. I'm just going to get a 4tb drive for the PS4 and an enclosure so I can use the 2tb as an external. From what I've read it's not easy fitting a 4tb drive in the ps4 but it can be done. I'll never use rest mode again though and would advise everyone else on 5.05 to do the same until the kinks are worked out at least.

I never use rest mode, and i highly recommend unplugging anything usb until you have your payloads up and running. Always start from a fresh reboot/coldboot.

I also have a PS4 Pro on v5.0.5 and using the Mira+hen payload and everytime I turn off/on my PS4 it says my hdd is going to recovery mode and goes through the repair. I turn off power with the controller and made sure the light on my PS4 is off before I cut off the power each time.

Stop using Mira+Hen. Xvortex HEN 1.6 is supposed to be much much stable than Mira+Hen. Am sure you'll have better results with it.

Does Al Azif offer just the 1.6 or does it force you to use Mira + HEN? In other words, if you upgrade to 5.05 and want to use just HEN 1.6 - are you forced to self-host? I'm still on 4.55 due to a huge backlog and a lack of time, but stopping things like these from happening seems to be an added side bonus.

I was using xvortex HEN 1.6 it was the last payload I ran. Before I ran it I did a clean boot and played some GOW. Once I was done I put my ps4 in rest mode and the next day when I went to use it, it would not load and required a power cycle. Upon the power cycle is when I encountered the HDD corruption and had to wipe it. So I would advise against using rest mode at all. With Mira I would be lucky if the thing would load the payload without crashing at all and usually took 4 or 5 tries to get a successful run. But I think all the crashes wreaked havoc on the file system and the last power cycle was the straw that broke it's back.

@Timilrath you have to add the payload manually to the payloads folder other wise it is not part of the package by default.

Rest mode is when you basically put the ps4 to sleep, it allows you to suspend apps/games/etc. When PS4 shows the orange light rather then no light at all.
