So, I hate to be another person starting another thread based on the Switch bans... but...

I know this is old news, and that a later tweet says that he no longer believes that libnx errors caused the ban, but I was wondering if anybody knew a way of wiping the error log, without formatting the whole system.

I've had a few homebrew applications crash and give me the "An error has occurred" message. I'm not sure whether my Switch has been online since then, but I'd like to wipe these errors just in case.

It would be awesome if we could wipe the error log using hekate, right before launching back into Horizon.

Backup your saves using checkpoint, wipe system, re-insert saves to formatted system? Not sure if that would work, but it's a start at least.

You can run the kip file with hekate.

THANK YOU!!! I'm going to try this tonight!

I had to upgrade to the latest version of DevKitPro to build this, I had a slightly old version (I think from March?) and it didn't seem to recognize fsdevUnmountAll.

I've uploaded the resulting kip file from my build, just in case someone else needs it (it's zipped). Thanks again!

Thanks for compiling and sharing. This will definitely be useful now and when CFW hits for sure! Would you mind saying what FW version your on in case this doesn't work with all FW's?

whats needed is a block of the error from being added to the system log. ALso an error log edit tool..... With kernal access there should be no stoping access to the log files. I bet you can even prevent the error log module from running.

If your error log is already uploaded to nintendo, I'm not sure about the wisdom of wiping it clean and having that uploaded to Nintendo for them to compare with.

what if the log comes with 1 or 2 errors out of box and removing them is detectable?
oh we can never be paranoid enough...

didn’t we narrow it down to CDN downloading via a pc application which was also sending wrong requests?
I don’t think Nintendo bans for error in the log (yet) and the ban was for attacking their network

You're correct, but there was heavy speculation they were using the play log from 3DS to ban consoles from using things like FBI, PlayCoinSetter, ect. The Switch has a lot more telemetry data sent to Nintendo (including every press of the Home button), so the logs are a very large concern right now too.

Offcourse its safer if everything is clean, but we will need an editor + a clean control unit. Nintendo could simply place a dummy in the log and ban everything that doesn't sent this dummy back to them.
