This is fantastic news I haven’t got my switch at the moment so I cannot test this but can anyone please tell me does dementium 2 work, it never worked on the wiiu? Now that would be so cool if it did. It would give us all a good idea what DS games will work with the switch and if this one does then I would of thought all the rest will!

Keep trying. I had Solarus play and crash, so it just happens.

Works for me without magic.

Damn it now somebody has to create a Switch stand that holds it with the screen vertical.

ta-da. and you thought Wii U was useless. Pfft, time to port the gamepad stand to Switch, along with every game.

The last couple of days I decided to mess around with the switch, so for my first release I decided on a DS emulator.

The interface is very crude based on the Vita port I worked on a few years back. Basically just put some roms inside sdmc:/switch/desmume/roms and play.

Wait is it vertical or horizontal? I always had an idea that no ye do should make 3ds virtual clonsole and make the switch have a controller that works sideways

I found some bug that crashes the emulator. Since the emulator uses a dsv save file (like desmume), I tried my saves (dsv) from desmume from my PC and placed them in the appropriate directory where the dsv(s) are stored on the switch. Once I load a game with my save, it crashes the switch.

I don't know if this is happening for anyone or it's just me. I just wanted to report this issue.

@ShinyMK Same here; with sound disabled, games like WarioWare D.I.Y. run almost at fricking full speed and can be adjusted with a bit of frameskip; Mario Kart DS is fine, at least in the menus, but slower during races and matches.

Also, I hate trying to jam down buttons to try and navigate the emulator menu.

Also, suggestions: Display only the emulator screens during gameplay, not the onscreen log behind it; also, options for screen layouts.

works brilliantly on 3.0.0 - Mr. Driller - Drill Spirits works almost flawlessly, i think it maybe cause the roms so small 16mb, larger 32mb roms like Mario Kart 8 dont render great but still loads

Cool, like the fact you are already looking into DS emulation on the Nintendo Switch.

One question; from the screens I can tell that the interface stay behind your game.
Is that something you plan on changing in the future (as in if it is black it will distract you less from the game)
Just throwing something 'crazy' in there.

Yeah, emulator scene just exploded like crazy :D
also i tested some games (all on 4.1.0):
Rhythm Heaven works, but with slowdowns almost everywhere;
Pokemon Black/Black 2 works really SLOW, and after enter you name and "are-you-a-boy-or-a-girl" stuff - crashes back to hbmenu and after few seconds console reboots itself
Fire Emblem - Shadow Dragon works quite nice (minor slowdowns) with frameskip set to 1 and without sounds.

Unfortunately this emu has no sound on Nintendo Switch v3.0.0
I’m wondering?
