'Stardew Valley' PS Vita Release Date Announced

Remember that handheld console from Sony? No not the PSP, but its successor, the PSVita? Well, it's still getting games and the latest one to release will be the indie farming simulator Stardew Valley!

While the PS Vita version was announced last year, the release date was only confirmed in a blog post yesterday by the game's creator Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone.

The game will be cross-buy, so you’ll only need to purchase one copy to play on both your PlayStation 4 and your PS Vita. This also means those of you who already own the game on PlayStation 4 will now be able to download the PS Vita version too!

However the PS Vita version of the game will not include the multiplayer update.

Stardew Valley will be coming to PS Vita on May 22nd.

This thing is still getting games?

Oh wow. I guess it's time to blow the 95 layers of dust and boot it up again!

They really should mark down the prices of this poor thing that $ony abandoned.
I love my vita but it's already showing its age. It was cool and fun playing it back in 2013.
It's still cool that devs are still releasing games for it though especially with Reverie and now this.

It has a constant stream of games, mostly indies. The psvita is literally the "indie games console" and early owners should be thankful to those indie Devs.

I always wanted to get into Stardew Valley, but every time I look at it I am reminded that I haven't finished Rune Factory 4 and that studio is dead. So I should pay my respects before moving on.

Yayy. Ps Vita! Portable version! Now... no love for the 3ds? i honestly feel this would sell really well on the 3ds too. Or is the dev doing it one at a time?

Don't forget those JRPGs
IIRC the Vita did quite well in Japan, and has become quite popular for JRPGs and Visual Novels, alot of which have ended up coming to the PS4

*Still does quite well*
The software market for the PSvita is incredibly holding up till now.
This Fiscal Year, the Vita holds 8.7% of total software sales. Vs the 3ds with 11.3%. Its still remarkable for its software sales. Despite the hardware sales difficulties.

So it seems. However after booting it up, checking the games and checking their prices, I got a grim reminder of why it failed so badly.
