The crossover series of Koei Tecmo's Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors games will be getting a new entry and will be coming west this year, announced by Famitsu. Warriors Orochi 4 will boast 170 different playable characters (the most amount compared to any previous game) with a roster that includes new and returning characters. The game is set to launch worldwide later this year, for both the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch.

Couldn't dig into the series but I liked Dragon Quest Heroes 2 a lot.

I guess WO4 is coming to Windows too, no?

I dunno, every time I see "WARRIORS" i just assume is just like the many other games called "WARRIORS" like i just explained in my previous comment. So I just instantly turn off to that.

It plays just like them.. Well, the mechanics are slightly different.. But it's mindless hack and slash with basic objectives and a half assed story telling.

Oh, okay then I guess I was right. :P

I mean in my opinion, it just reminds me of the old arcade beat them up or brawler games where you just fight a bunch of bad guys, and move to the next screen, final fight and streets of rage, and double dragon style. These games are kinda like that, except it's now in 3D, and have more character customization and some form of strategy or another. But still have a limited move set that is exclusive to some character classes, and if you have characters that main the same weapon type, is more limiting to having variety. Not something I though of when a game like Ninja Gaiden by the same people had each weapon in the game have way more combos and attacks to do that just felt satisfying to use like the Izuna Drop, flying swallow, guillotine throw and the ultimate charged essence attacks.

I guess is why I don't feel too bad about the games but then again, how many can you make and with different license cross overs as well. Is it really that popular in Japan that they had to use popular titles to help sell it internationally? It's like back when they was trying to get Americans to like JRPG games, and made stuff like Secret of evermore, EarthBound and Super Mario RPG.

Hmmm I thought samurai and dynasty warriors were the same franchise? Just different time periods and characters. So I am assuming these crossover titles is just a mix of the two’s maps and characters. Never heard of warriors Orochi before.

Im excited for this I just hope they don't make 3 versions of Warriors Orochi like they did with WO3 it made 0 sense to milk the same game in different releases

The last Dynasty Warriors(not counting Hyrule Warriors) that I played was on the PS2. I remember seeing it at Toys R Us with one of my friends, and being completely blown away by how many enemies was on screen, and how you can just go crazy and maul a bunch of people at the same time. :D

They are a part of the "warriors" franchise. They've even had crossovers prior. Like Lubu in Samurai Warriors. Warriors Orochi is.. Meh... I'd prefer another Strikeforce over this. That's just me though.

Orochi Warrior is basically crossover between samurai and dynasty warriors with lore from Investiture of the Gods mix in.
