So yesterday I followed this tutorial on 3ds. hacks. guide /finalizing-setup (wont let me include hyperlinks idk) this isnt all of it just the finishing steps, followed everything through and it all worked fine until I got to the part where you use godmode9. Got through section VII on the link and then when I reinserted my sd card it froze up and I force shut it down and since then godmode9 wont load when I hold down start at boot. All of the apps show up on my 3ds but most of them give me an error message. I wanted to do this to use JK save for Animal Crossing however JK doesn't work. It gives me an error message, I read on another thread to delete the xml file and I did that. It sometimes acts like it's going to work up until I try to export a save, it asks for you to name it and I do and then it says there was an error with writing and I have to hit A multiple times before it registers and then it says sucessful which is a lie because when I look under the JKSM folder on my sd card there are no saves found. wtf. I have little experience with this. Not sure where to go from here...there seems to be multiple isuues. Does anyone know how to at least fix the JK save manager or a differnt app or something I can use that does the same thing?

If you put luma on the ctrnand in section Vl,you should be able to boot the 3ds up without the sd card through the ctrnand, then you can reinsert your sd card.If that doesnt fix the issue, then somthing is wrong with your nand.

When you install b9s,it installs to a part of the nand chip on your consoles motherboard. The tampered nand wont boot without a boot.firm file on either the sd card or the ctrnand. If you followed the Vl part in the guide, you should have the boot.firm on the root of your ctrnand built into your consoles motherboard.

That means you should be able to boot your console without your sd card,if somthing on your sd card is causing your console not to boot.

It does boot without the sd card, godmode9 wont boot. So instead of godmode9 starting when I hold START on the console when it is booting up it just loads the regular way instead of godmode9 starting

Then somthing is wrong with your sd card.Backup all the files on it to your computer, then format it to fat32.Are you using lumas chainloader to boot up godmode9? Then you need to make sure you have the latest luma boot.firm file on the root of your sd card.

Should I reformat it and restart the process? Or just reformat it and then paste the files back onto it?

you should only have to format it and paste the files back onto it
Okay, that didn't work

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I started to have the issues after deleteing the <date>_<serialnumber>_sysnand_###.bin and essential.exefs. I did save these to my computer and I tried adding them back to the folder to fix it but nothing happened.

If I were you, I'd run through the steps again and make sure you followed them to a T. If removing those two files caused an issue, make sure they're back in the same directory as before. I just went through this process on my gf's system and don't remember being told to delete those files - are you sure that's right?

Yes that is what it told me to do and I will try that.
