Spyro Reignited Trilogy to release later this year

spyrotrilogy.jpg
Amazon Mexico have supposedly leaked the box art and release date for the recently rumoured Spyro trilogy remaster according to Twitter user @MykonosFan

The collection will be called the Spyro Reignited Trilogy and will include remasters of the original PlayStation games by Toys For Bob - known for their work on the Skylanders series and most recently a port of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy to the Nintendo Switch.

The remastered games will include:
  • Spyro the Dragon
  • Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!
  • Spyro: Year of the Dragon
If the Amazon listing can be trusted, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy is set to release on September 21st for $40 USD.

An official announcement of the game is expected to be announced at PAX which is opening today for 3 days.

If the ONLY reason is the graphic and details then no.
Everybody can say their own opinion anyway.

To explain the difference:
A thing is if you say: looks better (for you at least)
Another thing are if you say is better than the original because have better graphic and details.
You got it?
The controls will be better since the first ps1 controller did not have any analog sticks which means the controls had to be designed for this.

You are sarcastic, aren't you? considering the power difference between ps1 and ps4, and ps1 hardware limtations then yes, the original have better colors. Just because ps1 cant handle shaders, this not mean is worse than actual generation.
I mean original have much bright colors, it looks like... more vivacity. PS4 games looks depressing.
(Meh, at least the last Spyro remastered pics you posted in comparison looks great)

If you - or somebody - think more details, shaders and graphical effect did a better quality, well this for me mean to be superflous and not a true gamers.
Graphic is last thing in a videogame, but what i want to say is not graphic difference, but STYLE: the original have better and own style, looks like more toon (and Crash and SPyro are toon-style games, doesn0t need dark, realistic or detailed graphic)
I mean, Crash Trilogy have same graphic style of Knack and other platform of ps4 (and this generation): no more unique style, just conformism.

ANYAY: sure this Spyro remastered seems to have had more love than ugly Crash remaster. At least, Spyro looks close to the same Spyro of original games box-arts
>Makes Argument that the new games have less color than the original
>Then decides to move the goal post and say by comparison of hardware the ps1 has more color after proof is provided that it indeed doesn't.
>Despite the previous pictures not even remotely showing darker or more realistic graphics, in fact the graphics are brighter and more in line with that of a Pixar/Dreamworks film, claims that the remake has darker and more realistic.
>Entire Argument was pretty much that graphics=quality, now shown that the graphics are better, decides that the person making an argument that the graphics are indeed better is not a true gamer and shouldn't judge the game solely on graphics....then proceeds to keep judging the game based off graphics anyways.

The only thing I can give you is that it IS more detailed but that comes with the fact they are using a current day engine which does allow them to do so and it is not bad in any way, shape, or form.

Finally, I wasn't judging the collection solely on the graphics, as yes there could be issues with the game itself, I was judging the graphics against what came before. You on the other hand think it is a complete disgrace already, have claimed the ps4 was at fault for the way the colors looked, insulted others for having even a remotely different opinion than you, and are still judging the game solely on the graphics itself.

Maybe grow up a little bit and learn that your opinions aren't facts, that not everyone is trapped in a bubble and nostalgia, and just because someone doesn't agree with you it doesn't mean they aren't a "true gamer", especially when they have probably been playing games longer than you have.

Not be 100% sure about this; i've heard that Crash trilogy have horrible jump mechanics (well, i didn't had this problem on original for ps1 lool)
Anyway i think no one gotcha what i really want to say (sorry, but my english is quite bad) I hate those language barrier

i talked abut STYLE; watch at original Spyro face and then the new one. The original have funny expressions, the new looks a bit ordinary (but is not so bad, at least is close to original cover-art)
Same as Crash; original is funny, like a Looney Tunes; in trilogy he have horrible face expressions, looks like a monster.
Devs now sure dont have the old funny style that made many games great in the past (now everyone addicted to design, detail and realism)

"especially when they have probably been playing games longer than you have" <-- this mean nothing. I heard of some gamers (much older than me) that said many of games now have more gameplay than the past, and they talk about movie games such as Uncharted. Uncharted is a movie, press-sometimes-a button and cover and shoot, have not a true gameplay; is almost a pile of sequence.
Gameplay mean the player did the difference, not just press some button and watch cool sequence.
Ex: MegaMan, Devil May Cry <-- these games have true gameplay, no automatic sequence.

Well you use the word nostalgia to cover the shit now, like everybody. o more excuse than use the word "nostalgia" because you cant accept that games aren't true games anymore?

crash jumping mechanics were also preety crappy on ps1, you just notice it more on the remake becuase it responds better so you can see how bad the jumping mechanic is.

the saving is also crap in the old crash 1 if you die and can't do the bonus level you have to start the whole game over unless your using an emulator.

I actually dislike the uncharted series, but once again you love to use those broad generalizations don't you because it's the only thing that can give you even a remote argument.

So now's it's the style, when before it was the color, man you just love moving your goal posts don't you. So what are you basing all the style off of exactly? A 1:00 trailer that showed snippets of gameplay and 1 expression? Wow I mean, I guess I should become a "true gamer" like yourself and be so superficial about a game that I basically condemn for the smallest and pettiest of reasons.

Jumping points again, you are still basing the game entirely off the style and graphics of the game, assuming that them changing the graphics will equal a change in gameplay, in this case turning the game into a hallway simulator like Uncharted.

And thank you for proving that you are indeed stuck in a bubble of Nostalgia, as there have been plenty of great games released both in this generation and the last, every generation has has had shit games cluttering the market, which you would know if you weren't trapped in the bubble, only remembering the good games and none of the bad from the generation.

Once again, your opinions are not facts, stop presenting them as such, stop straw-manning every argument, stop moving the goal post when you lose said arguments, and finally, stop insulting others just because they don't agree with you.

i honestly love the originals but i wont think twice about getting a remake that plays on current console and looks better imo, manly because my spyro 2 cd is scratched so alot of the sounds just get cut or dont play in cutscenes.

One of the main reasons I love remasters/remakes is because of reasons like this.
I personally had all my PS1 games stolen years ago, this gives me a pretty affordable (again $40) way to re-obtain these old games, and with a new coat of paint and probably more, especially with some remasters/remakes that are now being re-built from the ground up with new graphical engines.
On top of this it gives players a way to experience games they may have missed a generation or two ago and can even bring in new players to the franchises.

Unless the game turns out to be an absolutely broken mess that is unplayable then I see honestly no reason to complain about it, which we won't know until release. As with movies or anything else, if someone is on the fence then I would urge them not to pre-order, wait for reviews, maybe even rent it themselves before making their final decision.

Actually the remaies also changed the collision boxes which messed with the jumping mechanics (sliding off ledges you barely jumped on, being able to jump just after falling off a platform.
the saving is also crap in the old crash 1 if you die and can't do the bonus level you have to start the whole game over unless your using an emulator.
Or you could do another bonus level or play the Japanese version.
