For what ever reason it's not letting me add .3ds files to it even though I have more than enough space for it..... .cia files add fine but .3ds for whatever reason say that there isn't enough space on the destination.....
What title is it that your trying to convert? Is there another format I can use so I can add it? I need it on my 3ds so I can use godmode9 to convert it to a cia file
Can I do this from a freeshop download?@susanoomon Try re-making the randomizer.
First get your Ultra Sun cart, and instead of grabbing the .3ds to mod, grab the .trim.3ds and remove the .trim part, so it's just .3ds. (from GodMode9) Then patch the rom to include the randomizer.
Was it a trimmed ROM? If it was it should be a bit smaller. So even redoing the randomizer and rebuilding the.3ds file it turns it into a 4gb file....
The only thing is I'm dealing with a .3ds file not a .cia file....For 4GB+ cia files, you have to use remote install or use the freeshop download method.
If your using FBI, it is listed as Remote Install.

The reason I was doing .3ds instead of .cia is asia81's 3ds hacking toolkit isn't rebuilding the cia at all....Then I recommend you use freeshop if you have it install games that are 4GB+ in size.
3DS files (rom dumps of physical carts) are normally for flashcarts like the sky3DS/gateway/stargate or similar clone.
CIA files (repackaged dumps of digital downloads) are normally for system install via CFW.
(This means if you don't understand what the file types are dealing with, your just going to be in a "beating your head against the wall trying to put a square peg in a circle pegged hole" metaphor situation.)
3DS files are not the same as CIA files and should not be treated the same way.
It pretty much means any flashcart that uses fat32 as a filesystem will automatically not be able to use 4GB+ that rom image.
For example, the sky3ds with the blue button can run a 4GB+ while the sky3ds+ with the orange button can't use the same 4GB+ rom if you have the microSD formatted fat32.
There is the 3ds to cia converter program. Though it only works on specific types of games.
If a method isn't working, try some other method. In your case, ignore using asia81's method for 4GB+ roms sizes. It is likely a situation that wasn't expected or tested. The reason I was doing .3ds instead of .cia is asia81's 3ds hacking toolkit isn't rebuilding the cia at all....
You can trim it with NDSTokyoTrim or 3DSExplorer. Saving will be messed up since the Pokemon games are card2 games, but because you're converting it to CIA it doesn't matter since CIAs just save to the SD. Just mentioning it in case anyone else looking for help finds this thread and tries to trim their .3DS ROM for use on Gateway etc.So even redoing the randomizer and rebuilding the.3ds file it turns it into a 4gb file....
