During a shareholder's meeting today, Square Enix revealed that they've formed a new studio called Luminous Productions. The stated purpose of this new studio is to create AAA games and provide innovative gaming content using the company's intellectual properties. Luminous Productions is led by Hajime Tabata, known for his work on directing Final Fantasy XV, and is staffed by multiple people from FFXV's development team. The press briefing mentions that any current projects being worked on by the studio will be revealed at a later date. Luminous Productions will join Tokyo RPG Factory and Studio Istolia in the repertoire of Square Enix subsidiaries recently formed within the last three years.

OMG this is going to be the worst studio ever.
Tabata and his team ruined Final Fantasy XV, and now they want to make new studio to continue their crime?
Unfinished and Unoptimized games is what we will get from them in the future, the story is not clear? here, buy this DLC and wait for the next one.
instead of paying 60$ for the game we will end up paying 120$ for the full game, of course SE is happy about this kind of business.

Let them do whatever they want but i hope they don't touch FFVII

I hope this mean Conan will shit on them more.

That was a hilarious video, i cried from laughing :rofl2:

I just started FFXV and I'm not a fan though I've only played for a few hours. Graphically, it's definitely good. I just hope it'll get better and not downhill from where I started. Xenoblade Chronicles X was better.

Hey, at least it's better than FFXIII :creep:
I would disagree. XIII had a far more engaging combat system and consistently impressive presentation. Plus the story was slightly better, if only by being a bit longer and better explained. Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinions. As for this new studio, I don't get it. Why not just form a new team via the old studio?

I'm not a fan of the FFXIII characters or soundtrack, not gonna lie.

That's fair. Most of the characters are pretty one-dimensional, but I love their design and Sazh is one of my favorite characters in the whole franchise. As for the soundtrack, I feel it stands as yet another great soundtrack that is admittedly lacking in memorable and catchy tracks when compared to its predecessors, excluding XII, which I feel is much weaker.

IDK, I just...something feels off to me.

From what I've seen of Tabata's work, he's one of the few Squeenix directors who can actually get shit done in a timely manner, but lacks the creative direction of Nomura and (former director) Sakaguchi. Pair him up with someone with a strong creative vision and I expect great things from his new studio.

I'm a big fan of FFXV. I love the fact that it isn't a press A simulator, it's more than that, you have actual control over your character. I hope they release more games in the future on the Switch and PC hopefully
