ROM hack of: Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon (3DS)

Pokémon Supernova Sun and Penumbra Moon are mods for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Like my Rutile Ruby & Star Sapphire hacks and my Nova Sun & Umbra Moon hacks, their main purpose is to provide a more challenging game experience while not artificially limiting the player. The premier feature of Supernova Sun and Penumbra Moon is the ground-up redesign of Pokémon Trainers in the world to increase the game's challenge. Every trainer in the game has been edited, and the level curve expects use of the Experience Share, which means that the player levels up very quickly. Every Pokémon in Trainers' teams has a a proper moveset and many are holding items. The Elite Four and Champion are Level 100, and the player doesn't need to grind to equal that!

Supernova Sun and Penumbra Moon's secondary focus is inspired by Super Smash Bros. Melee's "20XX Hack Pack" which is designed to improve competitive players' ability to practice and grind. In Supernova Sun and Penumbra Moon's Legit Build, everything obtainable is 100% legal and legitimate for real online battles or trades. In all Builds, some features are designed to make preparing competitive teams much less of a hassle. Competitive hold items are much more available, a 6IV Ditto is available through an in-game trade (holding a Destiny Knot), Eggs hatch in one cycle, and Level 100 Memento Blissey battles are available in the Battle Buffet once the main story has been beaten.

Hello Dio Vento. I'm not sure if this is asked often, but have you entertained the idea of including Legendary Pokemon into expanded builds, but "nerfing" their BST down so they don't simply roll over the competition?
Definitely not.

Honestly, this hack is by far the hardest i have ever played (and i have played most gen 4, 5, 6 and 7 hacks)
I had to grind hard, rebuild my team to make a complementary team. Guzma is so hard to beat if you do not have the right mons (i am just at the 2nd battle against him, just finished it right now, had to battle him 2-3 times each until i beat him).
The sets/strategies implemented in the enemies teams is just great.

Good job

Hi is there a link to older builds of the hack? the new hack version makes pokemarts freeze(v1.0.4)
so if anyone has v1.0.3 lite build please upload it

I am still on Version 1.1 of the Pokemon ultra sun

Edit : NVM, the shop.cro designed for v1.2 works fine on v1.1 of pokemon ultra sun

It shouldn't work on v1.1, you probably accidentally updated to v1.2.

Hey man. I have a little problem here. I followed the instructions on how to patch the game. I dloaded the expanded pack because I wanted to randomize it and I did everything in order to play supernova sun. I got it to work, the game was running fine. Then I randomized it. I followed a video of two guys who seemed to know their way around the app used to do this. It worked at first glance. The wild encounters seemed to be random and the game was supernova for sure. I even tweaked the shiny rate a lil bit(not the actual rate but the number of pid rolls, as it says on the app). Then I ran into the pokemart freeze. I fixed it by updating the ultra sun game but then I got the black screen while booting the game. I can fix that by removing the code.bin present in the title folder but as soon as I do that the "shiny rate" goes back to normal.
TLDR(though to understand you should read everything): So the situation is as follows: I can play the game randomized without the shiny rate tweak but if I try to run with it, it doesnt work anymore. Is there a way to get it to work?

The increased shiny rate cheat mod alters the game's code.bin. You need to apply that cheat to a v1.2 code.bin; if the code.bin is not the same game version as the shop.cro, you'll get the pokemart freeze.

If you have updated your game you have to use the code.bin file for version 1.2
1.0 will not work with the updated game.
You can find the ips patch file for all versions here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/usum-ips-patches.488802/

I´ve already answered your question...
Use a different ips file which is made for your new game version 1.2

Do you mean if I just want one of the patches I can just grab the code.bin and patch it with the ips file I choose?
If you only want to use one of the patches you can just grab it from the download package, rename it to code.bin and copy it to your folder on the sd card.
If you want to use more than one you have to merge them first.

Delibird is listed as learning Hail at level 21, but doesn't seem to. That move is listed between level 37 and 39, though - so maybe it's meant to be 38?

I'm hoping it's 21, cause it seems like a decent way to deal with the Brooklet Hill rain team guy :)

Yep, that's a bug. Nice catch, patch going up now. If you already passed Level 21, you should use PKHeX to hack the move onto the Pokémon.

I have alpha saffire, Sun, Moon.. My son has X,Y, alpha saffire, Moon, U-Moon, U-Sun.. (and we have older other pokemon games too)
If I want to use one of this patches will that go to the cartridge or does it only use the save from a cartridge?
So I should be able to lean a game from my son and use it to play the patch and he can still play his own save further???
I would like to explore the patches, but I don`t want to change my Original games..

The game on the cartridge is read-only, but if you're playing my mod with a cartridge it will create a save file on that cartridge.
The modifications cannot be permanently stored on the cartridge. As long as you back up your son's save file and restore it when you're done borrowing his game to play Supernova Sun or Penumbra Moon (use JKSM or Checkpoint for that!), everything will be fine.
