Microsoft is pretty nice about allowing their Intellectual Property to be used with other high-profile projects. I respect their willingness on that front.

So IP that has been scarcely more than ported or remade for about a decade at this point in a gameplay style that is neither massively popular nor one the company plays much in (I don't think I have seen MS make efforts as far as a brawler yet, saw a few try kart games even) might be allowed to guest appear.
What a shocking turn of events.

Of course he wouldn't mind Banjo being in Smash. They do nothing with the IPs, and if Nintendo came to them, they'd know it means Nintendo wants them in badly, and can charge them a lot.

They should just sell the Banjo-Kazooie and Conker IPs to Nintendo. Give them to somebody who would actually do something great with them. Or better yet, sell them to Playtonic, so they could be back home. That's where they belong anyway.
I don't think Playtonic could afford them right now. But that's not a bad idea. Maybe once Playtonic have a bunch of games behind them and have amassed a fortune they'll be able to afford the IPs. But by then they won't need them anymore...
Yooka and Laylee is a much more interesting pairing than Banjo and Kazooie ever was anyway, so if they intend to continue making games with them, I don't really see the need for them buying the Banjo-Kazooie IP.
But Conker's a much more unique character, and Rare/MS don't seem to be doing anything with the IP, so that one might still be worth it for Playtonic to pick up in the future.

it would be good if nintendo made a deal with microsoft, bring rare replay to switch and banjo in smash in return ms gets free advertisement on banjo and can put donkey kong games on there rare replay version of the game :P

it would be a win win situation for both nintendo and microsoft, getting free advertisemente on a huge game like smash would be amazing then releasing finaly a banjo sequel that doesnt involve cars...

It's honestly incredible to see how far Microsoft has come since the whole Xbox one debacles. I went from loving Sony and hating Microsoft, to despising Sony on almost every level to applauding Microsoft. Weird.
