maybe you put the wrong luma boot.firm on your sd card? I would look into the 3ds guide on how to update to luma 9. get all of your files from that site.

I used that site to put Luma 8.1.1 on my 3ds on 21 Nov. 2017 and I updated to 9.0 on 26 Jan. 2018..

I don't know if it runs the same. you can download it through FBI, titled. its called Craftus

I didn't know you could download games through FBI. From the little research I've done on hacking a 2ds I thought FBI was only used to install CIA files.

What is called Craftus? Minecraft?

hey everyone. complete noob here and sorry if I'm bothersome :/ I honestly don't know if I'm doing anything wrong (or right for that matter, just tell me when I do something stupid pls) but I really need help with some questions I can't seem to find answers for.

1. Can I install oot3dhax on my 11.6.0-39U O3DS using a different, homebrew capable 3ds?And if so, can anyone give me step by step instructions I can follow?
2. Can CFW and/or homebrew get in the way of online play?

Help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks and cheers!

homebrew only gives access to savegame backup stuff etc

you have 4 ways to get CFW on your system,

Hard mod
NTRboot compatible flash card
DSiWare via System Transfer from a currently hacked system,
and Seedminer that will cost you a $2 DSiWare game and help from people

So it's a no-go on getting oot3dhax on mine then? Read somewhere that it can be done with a powersaves or a homebrew ready 3ds. Hope lost lol.

you can use oot3dhax, but you will not be able to install anything or such
you will be very limited on apps you can run via homebrew launcher,

and you can still play online with both,. aslong as you dont hack in the games, you'll be right

That's great! Just planning on tinkering with my saves. Nothing too in-depth. Would you give me a guide on installing oot3dhax via another homebrew 3ds?

I just received my r41 Gold plus cartridge and am trying to follow the guide here - https://3ds.hacks.guide/installing-boot9strap-(ntrboot) section II. With my flash cart installed and set to "n" I have confirmed the magnet is in the right place but when I power on holding X + start + select I get a blue light on my new 2ds, but then it goes off. I never get the installing boot9strap menu. I have tried numerous times without luck. Any suggestions?

Do I just need to buy the game on eShop? I didn't find any updated information on 3ds.guide for the moment, that's why i'm asking here.

somebody tried to help me with the failed to decrypt ctrnand firm message.. with ctrtransfer but when i boot i now get this error :

I tried the restore nand backup and now Im back to the message failed to mount ctrnand only there was firm after the message and that is not there now..
What am I doing wrong ???

Oh wait first the message was failed to DECRYPT ctrnand FIRM
and now it`s failed to MOUNT ctrnand

I lost the NNID, Im just so happy that the 3ds is working again, but my son will be not happy.. Can I put the NNID back on the 3ds later and just use it now without NNID ???

Try boot.firm on your SD from both 8.1.1 and 9.0. One of them will work. If they don't, try a new SD card.
Edit: never mind I didn't see you already solved it. You can sign into the NNID by going to Settings then NNID Settings
