so when sonic "rips off" mario (the game's own creators say that was the inspiration) its ok but when zelda becomes an open world game its a bad thing? by your own logic games like deus ex should exist because they "rip off" doom
No, it's not a rip-off because it's open world. Games being in the same category aren't "ripping" each other off. But when I'm 30 mins into botw, and I'm like "this is assassin's creed.." somethings up. It's alot more than the fact of being open world that I felt this. Mechanics are the same, gameplay is the same, hell some of AC's most notable features are there.

I mean...they're still 720p/1080p vs 3DS' 240p, the difference is obviously more than a little noticeable. The Switch is already better in several ways, again I'd say the only thing that isn't better yet is the software library. The 3D itself was 3DS' defining feature as a portable, and it's nothing to write home about.
To a certain extent, hardware doesn't matter in gaming consoles. A good library is much more important. The 3DS does have a terrible display resolution, for example. But the games make such well use of the display, you hardly notice it after playing and becoming emerged in the game (which is very easy on XL systems). Not to mention there's a couple areas that the Switch can never beat the 3DS in, such as portability. The Switch is a great system that will take off even more than it already has very soon. I don't regret purchasing mine however Nintendo needs to start releasing more defining titles for the system such as BoTW, ARMS, and Odyssey.

In the mean time, the 3DS is overall a better system. It's decently powerful (for a Nintendo portable at least), it has the entire 3DS and DS library available to it, and the games it has have already become iconic in themselves (Pokemon XYORAS, NSMB2, SM3DL).
TBH I find it harder on the XL systems, the screens just look so pixelated. It's really bad in some games. Those games still look pixelated on the small models but considerably less so. The Ace Attorney games are some of the worst offenders among the games I've played, most of the time is spent looking at text and the text looks awful, it bothers me constantly. I mean, I still enjoy the game, but not as much as I would have otherwise.
I went to the small n3DS after o3DS XL and I find it to be a perfect middle ground. I wouldn't want it any smaller, the o3DS screens are just a tad too small for my liking, but I also don't want my games to look more pixelated than necessary.
The Switch's screen is just a pleasure to look at, especially when playing BotW or Super Mario Odyssey which make good use of the hardware. I think I might've become a bit spoiled by it.

i played 20 minutes of bioshock infinite and thought it was a bad clone of singularity, then i actually played the game and had an opinion that didnt amount to comparasions based on first impressions :/

you must play some very diferent AC gaes than me, assasins creed is about killing people stealthly with most combat best off avoided jumping on roofs, towers and such, zelda is an open world explorer with hack and slash battle with barerly any civilization or civilized world you only climb rocks and thats about it, if by cimbing and jumping from high places is a rip off then we are really going downhill lol im guess every game that is open world and has climbing is now a rip off...

also how was mario odissey ripping off sonic adventure? oh i really want to hear this lol.

Also 3ds is dying it will probably die this year, incase no one noticed alll 3ds games are ports/remakes that are easy to dom they didnt announce any new game and before saying detective pikachu do remenber it was released on japan on february 2016, the west is just getting a translated port with all episodes now...

I honestly feel like if you can compare BotW to Assassins Creed, you have a very shallow expectation. The two feel nothing alike, at all. Even then, Assassins Creed took some elements from Prince of Persia. I mean, if you use a straight line to compare something, they're all the same.

The only thing BotW and Assassin's Creed have in common is the open world. AC had no puzzle shrines, no magic powers, and completely different combat. Even the climbing speed is completely different.

If anything, BotW is closer to Skyrim, and that's very much intentional as Skyrim was the inspiration for open world Zelda.

Even the climbing system differ a lot from AC.

i know about the dpad mods, i personally think that if you have to mod a console for a dpad then its not very comfortable, granted, i havent played many 2D platformers on the switch, but celeste was really uncomfortable with the directional buttons (C-buttons?), to each their own i guess.
as for gyro aiming, i move my hands a lot so gyro aiming on the joycons for RE: REV felt like crap, pointer controls are way more accurate too which for RE is really necessary, i like them on portable mode, but for use with the TV mode it just doesnt work for me
Yeah, I get that. Just mentioning it since it seems like it could really improve your experience. It's a pretty easy mod (no soldering required just a small triwing screwdriver), just have to be careful with all the connectors and make sure not to lose any screws or springs that could fly out of the ZL/ZR buttons. And while you're in there you can stick a small square piece of conductive foam onto the end of the antenna to help fix connectivity problems (which I've been meaning to do myself but since I haven't been playing the Switch docked at home and the connectivity issues only seem to occur at home it hasn't been a big issue)
Celeste does seem like the kind of game that would be really hard to play with this sort of control scheme. It also seems like a game I should try out, so thanks for that :D

his comparison to AC is only open world climbing and jumping from high places, bam assasins creed clone...

every AAA game is openworld this days so using that even as a comparison is pointless, and climbing is basicaly a mechanic and on every game you climb your bound to be in high places and jump...

You can't even jump 5000ft to perfectly land in some hay in BotW. Disappointment galore!

it boogles my mind how one can even say botw plays and fells like an AC game is just mind blowing for me.

and if you saw his post he said mario odissey is a rip off sonic adventure i mean srs?LOL mario 64 came years before sonic adventure and mario odissey is basicaly a unoficial mario 64 sequel and yet he says its a sonic adventure rip off for whatever wierd idea he has becuase again sonic adventure is not an openworld 3d exploration and colecting 3d platofrmer its a linear race to the finish 3d platformer...

srs the only thing they have in common is being 3d platformers and mario 64 came way earlier...

first one is people wanting a skin and no meantion of anything else.

lol did you even readed what you linked its the other way around, on the second link you putted people are saying assasins creed origins borowed from zelda lol where until ac4 you can only climb certain surfaces you now can climb anything like zelda, when you shoot an arrow in the air they also introduced slowmo camera like zelda lol

the rest of the topics are the same lol they all say assasns creed origins is heavy inspired on zelda.

its the oposite of what you say lolol.

After quickly looking through those posts... They're comparing some of the newer additions to Assassins Creed to Zelda. You're going the other direction.
