TheFl0w releases Henkaku Enso 3.65 support for 3.60 users

IMG_7099.JPG

Vita owners might be excited to know that thanks to the efforts of TheFl0w, that something big is on the way, soon. If you're on FW 3.60, now you'll be able to play games from higher firmwares, such as 3.65. Adrenaline and Henkaku Enso have already been updated to support 3.65 as well. You'll need to update using TheFl0w's method, as there's no native support for Vitas currently on 3.65 yet, though a release for that is in the works for later down the line. He has extensively tested this current method and will be releasing it today, at UTC+1 23:00.

 You can see a list of games that require FW 3.61+ here.

 Release

Pros
  • You will be able to access the PSN store, activate your device and download your purchased games again (only as long as Sony doesn't decide to release a new update that prevents you from doing that).
  • You will be able to play all games that were released for firmwares 3.61-3.65.
Cons
  • You will not be able to downgrade back to 3.60 if you find that this custom firmware doesn't suit you.
  • You can lose the ability to run homebrews, if you modify the OS and end up in a semi-brick where you are forced to reinstall the firmware. This should however not happen to a regular user, but I'd rather not install applications that modify read-only partitions like os0: or vs0:.
  • Some applications may not work on the new firmware and need to be ported.

VitaCheat might not, since the Dev behind it got his GitHub taken down. Wonder if someone got the Git before it did.
Have you tried GoHANmem or MEMdump? I know MemDump Codes, depending on what they are, can work for VitaCheat. Dont know if it is the same the other way. Let me know if you get VitaCheat running any other way.

Oh snap... That's not good news. Even though I never used it that much, when I did, it was to play around with cheats. It was super handy, given it enabled overclocking and cheats in a single package AND it worked on NoNPDRM titles. Overclocking I can live without, and there's bound to be other plugins that will enable that so it's no big of a deal. I'll take a look at GoHANmem or MEMdump though.

Does anyone know if the updated sd2vita can mount the memory card as uma0? I have all my Vita stuff on the sd card and all my psp stuff on the vita memory card. Neither Vita Shell nor Adrenaline are picking up the memory card. Vita stuff works fine.

There are some others gamesd plugins with uma0 support, like https://github.com/ArkSource/gamecard-microsd/releases

If there will come a detailed tutorial, please notice that some users who use only sd2vita NEED a memory card to update from henkaku 3.60 to 3.65 because qcma works only with a memory card and you need to update your sd2vita plugin. Otherwise you won‘t be able to use molecularshell/vitashell if you are a sd2vita only user like me and other users. For this, you will need to use a memory card and the tool called qcma and psvimgtools

Thanks to some members here that helped me on this to give an solution about this problem

I can confirm like all others guys that usmbc won't work in 3.65
Here with the latest commit some people fix it.

https://github.com/yifanlu/usbmc/issues/18

Search @IDBurner comment:

I had to remove the following
in order to compile

if (exists("ux0:tai/config.txt")) { taiReloadConfigForKernel(1, 1); }

However it is having the same issue I have been running into.

ie The installer sees the device but VitaShell does not

EDIT: I have attached my compiles if anyone wants to see if it is just an issue with my Vita
usbmc.zip

And download and try it.

I'm holding off (on playing Shantae) to see if someone makes a hybrid 3.60-5. I'm Leary of giving away the safety of 3.60 in case of a system corruption that requires a reinstall of the firmware.

How many times did you need to reinstall 3.60 because of corruption? Presumably zero. If you’re not messing with system files, it’s a hypothetical problem. Everything on ux0 can be restored without a reinstallation.

It's just a hypothetical unless/until I would have to. I'm not fear-mongering, but just being cautious with my Vita since I'm only lacking in playing Shantae. Others can do what they want with theirs.

I've been reading through the posts. Am I reading this correctly? If I've messed up something, and I do a system restore, it restores without Henkaku, and I lose Henkaku altogether? It doesn't restore back to a fresh Henkaku? I thought the option "update system software" was somewhat obvious, in that you lose Henkaku. But you also lose it with restore? My vita is currently semi-bricked.
