Probably a dumb question, but if game says cfw only, it doesn't show up in the WUP Installer program.

Is there a way to play these games on the actual Wii U console?

That's weird, they show up and install fine for me.

Are you downloading 3DS Games or WiiU CFW ONLY games?

Because WUP Installer will only detect games that are in the correct format for the WiiU. And of course you must be running CFW to install a CFW ONLY game. CFW such as Haxchi must be running to install and/or play a CFW ONLY game.

When I first started using WiiU USB Helper I had installed it on my laptop and downloaded some games. I didnt like leaving my laptop open for so long while it was downloading so I installed it on my desktop PC instead.

I'm going to use the one on my desktop from now on, however it doesnt show all the games I have downloaded/installed. Is there any way to add the ones I already got on my laptop to the list of ones I have? or do I need to download them all over again?

I have a similar problem, the program never seems to know what it's downloaded. Even if I download a game and then put it on my WiiU, the game never shows up in the Downloaded category or "Games on WiiU".

An option for inputting the IP of the WiiU would be great too since it keeps losing the WiiU for some reason, even though it is connected and continues to transfer files...

Well if the application is on two different computers there is no way for it to know what you have downloaded on the other computer.
You can either move the "DATA" directory from one computer to the other or you can right click the titles and chose 'Mark as Installed' so they will be displayed in the "Installed on your WiiU/3DS" category.
Choosing the latter will of course not allow you to do anything with the games (emulation or copy to sd) since the data is not on your computer.
Alternatively, if you connect the application to the latest version of the Transfer Tool, it will automatically try to synchronize the list of games installed on your Wii U (USB Only).

It's normal for the Wii U to appear as disconnected while the files are transferring. It is only broadcasting when you are on the main menu of the Transfer Tool and the application is idle.
Regarding your games, make sure you are not hiding them with filters.

It should show up just like the others.
Make sure you are using Mocha or the latest version of the transfer tool.
Also, make sure to always use the "copy to sd" button because if you copy the files manually and leave special characters in the path it will not work.

Yes I realize it would have no idea that I downloaded it, I just was trying to figure out a way to manually tell it they were already downloaded and installed. I could not find the "marked as installed" didnt think to right click the titles. I Just noticed that menu now. I Tried copying the data folder but It did not change anything.
I dont care about using the emulation or copying to sd since they are already installed. I was just hoping that having it marked as installed it will tell me when there is an update or new dlc for a game I have installed. Will it do that? or does it just basically serve as a inventory list and thats it?

Thanks.

New to the Wii U. Looking forward to giving this a try!!

Edit: Would anyone be able to tell me what the overall size in GB or TB for all of the Wii U content (looks like about 745 items) in the eShop? Not sure what the difference in the initial download would be and then the space taken up after being transferred to an external HDD (not sure if there's a conversion that adds to the overall size after transfer), but if there is a difference and someone can tell me I'd like to plan according.

Wii U can only do a 2Tb drive so u can just end there

Got ya, been reading many pages on this thread but 190 pages is a lot to go through. A couple questions on that then:

1) What if I want to store everything DL on a separate drive, before copying to SD and then transferring to a external 2TB HDD. Will a 4TB or 8TB cover the pre-SD card files?

2) or, what if I use 2, 3 or 4 external 2TB HDD's for everything once transferred from SD to External HDD? Would I be able to transfer from SD to one of the drives, load it up to it's 2TB max & then just switch to another 2TB drive(s)? Then could I just have the drive with the wanted game plugged into the Wii U while the others sit on the sidelines awaiting their use?

3) Do I format the external HDD to FAT32 or does the Wii U need to format it to a special format. If I format it see question #4 below.

4) Is the 2TB limit due to the FAT32 format? With the original Wii I've used 4TB HDDs in FAT32 with 32k clusters and am currently using a 8TB HDD (granted I had to break the GPT partition and make it MBR (not sure if it still has to be done in MBR these days) and then format it as 64k clusters for the entire drive to be seen and work). But if the Wii U has to do the formatting none of this matters.

Hey there! I am confused and could use some clarity here. I have two games of zelda breath of wild, my old 1.40 which properly says EUR and using 1bc499ed as cache. Now, i used Wii usb helper selected region EUR, got me zelda 1.50 and if i launch it, cemu says [EUR] but its using cache from USA version dcac9927?? Whats the deal here?
If this is any help, my old version (content/system/version.txt says 1.1.2
while new one says 0.9.0
If i could provide any additional info to help you help me, do let me know..

Addendum:
I launch my (old)base game with new updates and it says 1.5.0 and is using 1bc499ed
BUT
if i launch wub game with same updates its using dcac9927?? wth?

If anyone can help solve the mystery?

Yes marking a game as installed will notify you in case an update is available.
I think the best way for you to do this is to copy the file %appdata%\USB_HELPER\installed from one computer to the other (make sure the application is closed on both computers first) and you should get your list of installed games back.

1) Well it depends on how many games you want to install but anything over 2TB seems overkill unless you want to download literally everything.

2) You can switch drives on your Wii U but there can only be only one plugged at a time. So yeah you can have multiple drives but again will you really install so many games that you need more than 2TB?

3)The Wii U will format it in a proprietary and encrypted file system.

4)Probably because of the proprietary fs.

The ShaderCache id is a checksum of the main executable. It is possible that the latest update has merged the executables of all the regions, therefore Cemu will load the dcac9927 shader cache.
Just a hypothesis though, I haven't checked it and I am involved in the development of Cemu so I can't be sure.

@Hikari06 , Thank you for you quick reply and patience. I'll start with a smaller HDD and see how things go.

Question on the transfer of WiiU external HDD drive contents. If I start with a 500GB HDD and out grow it, will I be able to:

---A) Transfer the installed HDD items from the 500GB HDD to a larger HDD and continue on from where I left off by adding the new titles?

Or

---B) Would I need to start over again and transfer everything through the WiiU again to the new larger external HDD?

You can easily transfer games from one drive to another by plugging the two drives in your Wii U and going to data management (which is actually the only thing you can do when two drives are plugged in at the same time)

I noticed there are a few items that do not give the option to download via the ADD button such as 007 Legends & Animal Crossings Amiibo Festival.

Both say they are ONLY UPDATES AND DLC. Are these just not downloadable until the main title is supplied?

Just an FYI some of the games I downloaded from wiiuusb helper and coverted to cia are either corrupt or there is some other issue as the 3ds give me an arm 11 crash when they are booted.

Tried to install Smash bros brawl and it always seems to hang on the creating save file part, anything I can try to get it working? Other wii games from the helper work fine so not sure what it could be.

You will run out of slots on the menu long before you run out of disk space.

I have my 2TB drive loaded with all 163 disc based games and the largest 125 eShop games and still have about 500GB free.

The WIi U, like the 3DS has a limit of 300 titles on the menu. Anything over that doesn't get displayed.

You have to own those titles or download them yourself. There are a handful (couple dozen) disc based games that aren't available for download but their updates and DLC are.

Did you install it on your Wii U or on Cemu?

Wii U USB Helper can only download games that have been published on the eShop.

Did you install the seed as weel?
