I don't know how to remove the update folder on the Wii-U as someone else mentioned. I haven't even got a custom firmware installed as it looked too difficult for me. So this LocalDNS tool is really handy for blocking Nintendo System updates.

I am using Wup Installer and a USB drive connected to the Wii-U etc. Not sure if I can update to 5.5.2 but its still on 5.5.1E currently.

If the titles you installed are signed (aka you can run them directly without launching anything from the browser before) they should still work if you updated. But there is no benefit updating so why would you ?

Idk i'm not really into this CFW stuff, if you have the cold boot hax you should be able launch nnu patcher.
Updating to latest version will most probably break browser hax, you better ask on some wii u hacking thread

Yeah, but there's no reason to use browserhax if you have Haxchi/CBHC…

You didn't say you had Haxchi ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyway as a rule of thumb lower is always better, but the choice is yours.

Just published version 1.2 which supports IPv6, this was an easy fix, idk why i never looked into it before.

It’s not designed for switch. Go to switch.hacks.guide and go to Get started, then Blocking Updates. It’ll tell you how - you have to input a special certain DNS.

iirc it should support switch, but if you don't have special needs just use a public dns and keep this as a backup solution.
