Guys, Maschell just made an official thread for this project. Please move the discussion into his thread.

I'm kinda impresed that nobody shared this big news for the Wii U here, so I went ahead an made a thread :)

Maschell just made public his new project called "WiiUPluginSystem".
Its propurse is to provide a nice GUI loader which works on console and can manage in a modular way individual plugins.
Such plugins can be HIDtoVPAD, Padcon, TCPGecko, SDCafiine, SwapDRC, etc. That means that all of those mentioned can be used at the same time!!!
This can be considered as the next level on Wii U CFW.

If you have some coding skills you can contact Maschell on his Twitter or help on the issue tracker on the Github repo of the project.

Nice things coming to the Wii U!!! :yaywiiu:

So global HIDtoVPAD could be possible? That would be nice :)

Hmm.
Plugins for the Wii U.

I wonder if things like snapshots and battery indicators will come to it.
Much like the PSP.
Wasn't there a Quick Save Plugin for PSP too? Something similar would be good on the WiiU.

Yay, new life for Wii U awaits for us. I wonder how much we could still squeeze out from our "dead console" ?:P

Awesome. I hope the wii u scene keeps getting better always like it's been doing these couple of years. There's so much stuff and ideas to make great things.

It’s great he’s still working on wiiu homebrew but tbh all these can be accessed from a custom made cbhc menu on boot up which I would find myself just as easy. The chances of using some of these apps at the same time would be doubtful. The wiiu is dead on it’s feat such a waste of great dev talent! He needs to move on and put his magic into newer homebrew I’m sure some of the switch devs could use a guy like this and point him in the right direction.

I would agree if the Switch hasn't homebrew dev base enough, while the WiiU barely has only 5 devs working on it. Keep in mind that the wiiu still is a BIG ocean to explore, the Switch is having stuff that did take years to archive on WiiU (the Retroarch port on both consoles is an perfect example of this fact).

pretty nice but I don't get it.

That is awesome, I've been looking for that. There are awesome BOTW mods I'd like to use at the same time as the trainer with codes for some time now and its just not been possible, but this is exactly what will accomplish it. I can't wait!

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Padcon only turns off the display, not the entire gamepad

Well it may not be the most elegant solution, but you can just take the Gamepad to another room so that it loses connection with the Wii U and then hold the power button on the Gamepad turning it off but not the Wii U.

Dude there is no good way to use SDCafiine and TCP Gecko at the same time, if you try to load one and then the other, your Wii U will freeze. Why would you want both of these running you ask? Well for me, I love using TCP Gecko with BOTW to do crazy things the BOTW trainer and make use of the codes that I can quickly inject, allowing me to travel incredibly fast, moon jump, etc. etc. And then using SDCafiine with the same game, allows me to use custom work like a slingshot over a bow and arrow, the King of Red Lions over the Giant Horse which can actually travel on the water, and the Wind Baton in place of the ice rod allowing you to shoot long powerful bursts of wind which makes traveling around on rafts awesome. Sadly I can't do all this stuff at once, I have to choose between the model imports via SDCafiine, or all the codes I can be playing with with TCPGecko, but not both at the same time. Should this project continue to progress as it has been towards its goals, it absolutely will be able to accomplish which I desire.

So you know, I'd say speak for yourself there when you say that someone making use of this will be doubtful. I hope great devs do continue to make great apps for this fantastic system, there is still a lot of untapped potential with the homebrew scene on the Wii U and it does my heart good to see the scene isn't completely abandoned.

Completly agree!!!
Just because Nintendo killed the console and alreally reached its EoL doesn't mean its homebrew scene should also die, and I feel pissed off that respectful hackers like derrek, qlutoo, smea and yellows8 make comments like "after all is just the WiiU", "wiiu=meh" or "if you still care the wiiu" which just makes other devs to stay away from develop cool stuff on such kickass machine. I don't mind if those guys don't want to support the WiiU anymore to look forward into the Switch (come on, they alreally did too much for the WiiU, even derrek helped hexkyz to exploit the boot1) but making such disgusting comments is not good.
