When you say "> 2 TB," do you mean it won't work with anything less than 2 TB?

Do you have a network adapter already?
If you don't, get an official network adapter, since 3rd party adapters may have issues.

I personally use a StarTech IDE2SAT adapter, but I had to disassemble the network adapter to get it to fit in the PS2 enclosure.

There is no 2TB IDE HD that is still being manufactured.
Use my recommendations for SSHD and SATA to IDE adapter.

Also, **do not** load games via SMB or USB. They are dog slow/have compatibility problems.
