The original game has framerate issues because of the way the engine handles loading certain parts of the worlds. This is why the entire Upper Blighttown area has massive framedrops in every release, including the subpar PC version (but this can be fixed using DSFix).

Unless From decided to completely rewrite the way the engine works (hint: They didn't), it's almost guaranteed to have the same issues in this remaster.
Aren't they using the engine for the newer games for the remaster?

No, that was a rumor that was based on a tweet with wrong, speculated information. If they used a different engine, it wouldn't be a remaster, it'd be an entire remake since DS3 plays vastly different to DS1.

would have been nice to have the option of 60fps/720p but locked 30fps will be fine i think.

i played 1080p/60fps/pc master race.

id trade 30fps locked portable as a game like this portable would be amazing.

You sound salty af with no real reason to be. Its gonna be a ton of fun to revisit dark souls in a sweet remastered edition and portable. Its been long enough that it'd be nice to smash through it again
when you say remastered you do know the true remastered versions will be that on the ps4/xbx1, we all know the switch cant handle anything they can, we all know how diluted doom was, i couldnt give a crap if its portible.

again its another old port of a game i already own because i dont just play nintendo, hence why im not a fan because you end up getting the games we had years ago when they finaly catch up.

but im sure comparrison videos will surface showing how the switch version is again inferior and highly likely over priced in comparison.

and yes its been 7 years, but guess what i can smash it in right now, no need to pay for it again, or if i didnt own it, i can for £2.99.

i get it, the fanboys tink fuck me same tune, well maybe it is to you when you never got the option to play it when it was new on a nintendo console.

everyone is hyped that nintendo are getting third party support, erm i recall saying before it launched during its first year it will get this support in the form of old titles that they can easily port, they wont ever support it with its new titles because the switch cant handle it..... see the pattern, come nintendo's next gen console youll start getting todays games years later.

i dont buy a console to play old games i already own

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't some of the hit boxes get janky if you remove the fps limit on the first Dark Souls? Feel like I read that somewhere.
Hitboxes are fine, the only thing 60fps has issues with is jump physics. You don't jump as far as you do when playing at 30fps. This doesn't actually have any real issues, because all jumps required for extra things can be made just fine, but there's one specific jump when going back to the Undead Asylum where it's much easier to make at 30fps than 60fps.

There was an old issue with the first couple of versions of DSFix, where you could fall through the floor when sliding down ladders, but it only affected one ladder in the game and was fixed in a latter version.

"I cant believe that a game has to make sacrifices to be playable on a portable console. I expect portable systems to match the performance of home consoles, and for nintendo to make sure no third party games get ported to the new system. Brand new 4k 144 fps only"
