Hacking Gateway, updated EmuNAND to 11.6

Hello everyone,

it's been a while now that I didn't touch my 3DS and today, I accidentally updated my Gateway EmuNAND to 11.6.
Concerning my system, I am not sure (it's been too long now), but I followed the instructions on the Gateway official webpage to get a coldboot on old 3DS (TimeMachine and A9LH):
- Old 3DS
- SysNAND 7.1 (I suppose it was restored after A9LH install, otherwise 2.x)
- I have a backup of my 7.1 SysNAND
- Unfortunately I don't have a <11.6 EmuNAND backup

I tried to boot directly on SysNAND, but when I press the L button during the boot, the gateway menu doesn't appear and it tries to boot normally in Gateway mode.
I don't understand, because the R button works (update of my 3DS card is proposed).

Is there any way to make my 3DS boot again (at least in SysNAND) or to access the Gateway menu again ?
In this case, can you suggest me what to do in order to have a clean system where I can also launch homebrew.

EDIT: for people who have the same problem, it's L + Select while booting to enter the GW menu, I don't know why they changed for 4.x..

why not drop gateway and install b9s? it's a more stable and reliable option compared to gateway tbh

Thank you for your response. The problem is that the 3DS doesn't boot anymore, I can see the gateway animation booting on the 11.6 EmuNAND and blackscreen.

if you buy a ntrboot compatible flashcard you can use it & decrypt9 to restore your backup

also after you fix it you should really consider installing cfw and doping gateway (or at the very least look up the unofficial gateway 11.6 update guide)

Is this the only way to make my 3DS boot again ? I am okay to drop the gateway, and I saw the unofficial gateway 11.6 update guide too late...

likely . . .
when you boot the console while holding select what happens?
when you take the sd card (and gateway) out and boot the console what exactly happens . . . ? any reaction from the power indicator light ?

When I hold select -> nothing special.
When I take the gateway out -> Message that ask me to insert the Gateway 3DS card.

I though because it is only a problem of Emunand it could have been possible to resolve, is there any way to create an EmuNAND from an image of SysNAND like done by the Gateway ?

EDIT: when I take the SD card out, nothing happens, no Gateway splash screen, the console just shuts down.
EDIT2: Actually, if I manage to access the gateway menu, I can format a new EmuNAND.
EDIT3: I put an old Launcher.dat on the SD card, I can access the menu !

Try using a new SD card just with launcher.dat. Then you won't have an emuNAND to boot, you should be able to get to sysNAND.

Thank you guy, I could do that by just changing the Launcher.dat by a old one, but your solution works as well !
Problem solved, now I will try to have a clean system
