I'm thinking of buying an XBox One X, having seen a nice bundle of five games with the console for about £480.00.

Apart from the lower price is there any other reason that and Xbox One S or the original Xbox One could be a better buy?

I have a very nice Samsung 55" 4k UltraHD Television, and I do like watching UltraHD Movies, which I currently do via streaming media from my low spec PC with lots of storage space, to my TV. I would like to buy UltraHD versions of my favourite movies. I'll also be upgrading my TV in the near future so figure a decent 4k console would be a good idea.

I also have a Nintendo Switch for portable games, although mostly used as a console for Nintendo Exclusives. I was going to buy Doom, but feel I may as well go for the Xbox One version as I'd be playing it at home pretty much exclusively.

The original xbox one has a dedicated kinect port. If you want to use a kinect on the Xbox S or X you need an adapter that is expensive (about 50 euro on Amazon Italy, 25 used on CEX) and takes one USB port. I have no idea how many games really use that peripheral (very few) but the support is slowly disappearing with services being shutted down (Xbox fitness), system function removed (QR code scanner) and other stuff (the original xbox one controller had ir led to communicate with the kinect but they were discontinued in later revisions).

The price tag is the only real reason to buy an original Xbox One (maybe second hand). If money is not a problem and you have a 4k setup go for the X. The cheapest "S" have only 500gb hdd and you will fill them very soon.

The controller of the Xbox one X and S are also bluetooth and you can use them on your PC. The first Xbox one controller need a separate usb wireless adapter for use on PC and the first revision also need a proprietary adapter if you want to use the headphones.

the xbox one x is awesome, only real downside is that it costs more. Even games that arent enhanced for the x often look and run better thanks to games that run with variable resolutions and games that have frame rate drops. i think i also read somewhere that they add af to everything.

"Low spec PC", if you don't have a decked out PC, at that price point with a console with almost no exclusives, you're MUCH better of getting yourself a PC!

Adjust specs to your liking, free online, mods, cheats, emulators, excels in things other than gaming, piracy if that's your thing, multiple control schemes including the beloved keyboard and mouse if shooters are your thing, etc. You may not be able to build a 1:1 PC to the Xbox One X at that price point, but you can sure get damn close and adjust the specs to your liking, go more power, less, whatever you feel. The Xbox One has a pretty small library with 2 exclusives, definitely not worth it.

The x maylook all awesome being one of the most powerful consoles with 4k and uhd and hdr but it runs somewhat a bit slower then the ps4 pro with 4k but te 4k is less better looking idk why. I would just recomend getting the s. Its still has 4k and hdr and 50 hrz refresh rate and can run bluray movies (you need the app tho). So i recommend the xbox one s.

What are you on about man? The X is quite significantly more powerful than the PS4 Pro. And the S only supports 4k in media....and every Xbox model supports 60hz?

to be fair there is a few games that run marginally better on the ps4 pro because the x is going for native 4k while the pro is 1440p upscaled to 4k (or something along those lines). Mind you its usually only a few frames here and there, it just seems like more when you watch a digital foundry video where they go full hyperbole.

Oh yeah for sure, although you're also getting much better image quality with these here and there lost frames, so it balances itself out.

Thanks for the feedback.
Took the plunge and bought an X, and so far not regretting it. It will also be handy as a UltraHD Bluray Player.
Exclusives are not a major issue for me as been away from Microsoft or Sony gaming consoles for a long time. I've a huge back catalog to catch up on, and nowhere near enough time to play most of it.

Got a good deal on the Xbox One X with Assassins Creed Origins, Doom, Forza 7, Fallout 3, Fallout 4, Halo 5 Guardians and PUBG, for about £20.00 over the console only price. Also borrowed my brothers XBox 360 games, so trying out the backwards compatibility with his huge collection. The enhanced games look amazing even the XBox360 ones.

Bit annoyed that Doom is listed as an Xbox One X enhanced game, but there are no enhancements released yet.

I have to agree that the one x is pretty impressive for a console. The 4k games look amazing. I know they're 30fps but still.
Even when I play GTA online it actually goes 30fps the whole time instead of stuttering and lagging constantly. I can't even play it on my ps4 slim anymore because it runs terrible compared to it. Saying that running GTA on my pc at 100+ fps then going back to 30fps is bad enough lol.

For a console it's really good in my opinion. I would like if they gave you the option in more games to play 1080p 60fps rather than 4k 30fps. Some games just look much better at 60fps while in others especially single player, 30fps does the job.

The only real upside of the One X is the graphics, but in an age where graphics are already so realistic there isn't really a difference. Unless being able to see every blade of grass if worth hundreds of more pounds to you.. just save your money and get an S.

This is wrong. The increase in graphical fidelity is noticeable. In quite a few games. The performance increase is also a huge plus.

Well yes, there is a difference, but what I'm saying is what we have now is already impressive.

EDIT: And there will be a performance increase you'd still get good stuff from a One S

Owning both, a One X and original Xbox One? I'd recommend the X if you could afford it.
I think if you have the money and are really looking for a good experience, sure, go for the X, but from a practical viewpoint, you're saving money with an S or an original. And with the cost of the games for the Xbox, you could really use that extra money.
