ROM hack of: Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon (3DS)



Pokémon Supernova Sun and Penumbra Moon are mods for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Like my Rutile Ruby & Star Sapphire hacks and my Nova Sun & Umbra Moon hacks, their main purpose is to provide a more challenging game experience while not artificially limiting the player. The premier feature of Supernova Sun and Penumbra Moon is the ground-up redesign of Pokémon Trainers in the world to increase the game's challenge. Every trainer in the game has been edited, and the level curve expects use of the Experience Share, which means that the player levels up very quickly. Every Pokémon in Trainers' teams has a a proper moveset and many are holding items. The Elite Four and Champion are Level 100, and the player doesn't need to grind to equal that!

Supernova Sun and Penumbra Moon's secondary focus is inspired by Super Smash Bros. Melee's "20XX Hack Pack" which is designed to improve competitive players' ability to practice and grind. In Supernova Sun and Penumbra Moon's Legit Build, everything obtainable is 100% legal and legitimate for real online battles or trades. In all Builds, some features are designed to make preparing competitive teams much less of a hassle. Competitive hold items are much more available, a 6IV Ditto is available through an in-game trade (holding a Destiny Knot), Eggs hatch in one cycle, and Level 100 Memento Blissey battles are available in the Battle Buffet once the main story has been beaten.​

No, you can randomize them within PK3DS and copy the code.bin file it generates. But make sure that the code.bin in your base ROM folder matches the version of the shop.cro file / installed updates.

Yes. I ripped the CXI, unpacked it, copied the contents of the supernova sun expanded files into the unpacked CXI, did my editing, and will be copying back the full libraries of:
folder "a" folder "m" and Shop.cro to the romfs folder in the drag/drop method.
That should pretty much cover everything? I think.
EDIT: Also copied the folder "exefs" from the supernova pack to "00040000001B5000" then copied the .code.bin from the packenglishv11 edit. I guess I would need to...?

Okay, so what would make this easiest for your use case is to go against the instructions and uninstall the Ultra Sun v1.1 update. Then copy the shop.cro from extra_files/rom_files/romfs into SD:/luma/titles/00040000001B5000/romfs. The shop.cro in the Extra_Files folder is based on a v1.0 Ultra Sun / Ultra Moon shop.cro which means it'll work with an unpatched Ultra Sun (if you used the normal Drag and Drop one with a 1.0 Ultra Sun, you'd freeze when you talk to shopkeepers)

Waited with my UltraSun run only for this . Noticed that the models of trainers get weirdly thin arms/legs on citra as well as on my n3ds. Even weirder is that it doesnt happen when i play Penumbra Moon on Citra while Supernova Sun has my trainer look like an alien

Z-Crystal Decidueye
Malamar usually with a Sash for Topsy Turvy, otherwise Quick Clawed or Banded. This dude helped me a lot for the Totems. Made Ultra Necrozma a joke
Dusk Form Lycanroc w/ Life Orb
Togekiss w/ Choice Specs or Choice Scarf if I wanna go for flinch hax, which I needed a lot for the E4
Tentacruel w/ Black Sludge. Was a special wall and good for Toxic Spikes/Toxic/Burns
Mamoswine w/ Choice Scarf/Band or Life Orb, depending on if I needed him for Dragons or EQ
The Elite Four royally kicked my ass and gave me the biggest struggle, as well as Poni Gauntlet. RR oddly enough wasn't that tough for my team, except for the time I got swept by a damn Raticate lmao. Had to rely on hazards and priority alot though, something I rarely do for single player. Was so tempted to use Dusk Mane Solangel and Nagandel at times but didn't let myself do it. I would've powered through with the usual heavyweights but I always find myself using mons I never used before and getting too attached to them to ever replace a member lol.
Octillery, MegaGross and Scizor are absolutely nightmares for me, especially since my only fire moves were on Togekiss and Lycanroc, both very vulnerable to Bullet Punch

Nice looks like a pretty beast team. I went on a random team generator and am restarting now with joltik, honedge, kabuto, sawk, klink and lillipup. Hoping it goes well.

Alright Dio, I think I've done almost everything. All I have left are the Gladion, Lusamine, and Youngster championship defenses, and I'll have battled every trainer. Not often will you see a mod that puts effort into the content that most players will skip. This is seriously thorough. Great hack

Thank you for playing! You say it's not common to see a mod that puts in the effort for all that stuff, but even rarer is the player that actually goes out of their way to experience it. Let's hope the Switch stuff from the hacking conference (and Xecuter's announcement) means I can mess with Gen VIII when it happens!

What kind of error are you getting because I used all versions of the hack and I could use any online feature, including link trading and battle. There might be a problem with your game.

Im using expanded build. I always get communication errors in wonder trade, link trade and link battle. I also cant find any trainers in battle spot. Only gts and missions are working for me. What should i do to make this features working? I really wanted to battle online :/

The file i downloaded has a .txt file that stops me from extracting any other file to extra files. can someone help? or can some give me a download with out the .txt files?

EDIT: can someone also give me the files for star sapphire without the .txt files? it's stopping me from extracting files there too.

I'd imagine wonder trade and ranked battle are giving you errors because, since you're using the expanded build, all of your pokemon are illegal.

I believe im using legal pokemon cuz i bred 2 hacked pokemon from the game and put the offspring of it in the wonder trade making it a legal pokemon and still giving me this errors.. Or i am wrong with the info making a legal pokemon through breeding 2 hacked pokemons.
