60-80 dlls.
Gateway was around 60 I believe, and Sky3DS is around 60 to 80 depending on the version I think.

Btw, how trustworthy are these guys?
I am not familiar at all with Xbox hacks, which is where I assume these guys are coming from.

It's nice to see things are speeding up, hopefully 2018 will be a nice year for Switch Homebrew.
@the_randomizer, hope is on the horizon ;)
They're pretty reliable. Not sure about online safety.. But I believe them when they say they found something. Hm. Maybe I'm too optimistic..

The 3ds hardmod was extremely easy. Lets wait and see how the Switch turns out.
Don't think many people would be okay with this. A lot of people with interest in hacking have no idea how to solder, nor would they likely want to risk the console they paid 300 clams for by attempting to solder. Why anyone would prefer soldering (especially on something as delicate as the switch) is fucking beyond me...

Thanks :)
Well for online safety, I guess from 3DS experience we all know that avoiding online gaming with homebrew is pretty much the way to go.
That or blocking Nintendo servers and try not to use hacked stuff in online gaming.

For me it's not a problem, since I rarely even play online. But perhaps later down the road a solution for that would come.
All in all, it's nice to see that the doors to HB are opening up more and more and are not exclusive to the Reswitched guys.

They're trustworthy I suppose. They brought out Chips for both the OG Xbox and the 360 and they all worked as advertised..
It looks like a boot time mod too which is really nice.
Switch 2018 is definitely started with a bang lol
Yeah, this should be the answer to @the_randomizer problems :P

Nice.
I can assume perhaps this is related to soldering or some hardware modification, perhaps something to bypass the eMMC and the eFuses.
Who knows, I'll keep an eye on this, it's pretty exciting for sure :)

Main reason people aren't okay with this is either they cant do it themselves or they don't want to pay anyone to do it. You void your warranty regardless if system is opened or soft modded. Delicate? Never take the easy route.

You're COMPLETELY missing the point... NOBODY would prefer soldering. Its infinitey more risky... Having that opinion is borderline ridiculous.

*snipped reply to trashed post*

Anyways @ploggy is this something that we have to solder? I have zero experience so I'll likely pay someone to do it :P

Oh, and I suppose spending $500 for an overinflated exploitable Switch is an "easier" route? Either way you're screwed, no thanks to those dumb scalpers.

It's either this or spending an markup on Switch prices to get an exploitable console, damned if we damned if we don't.

@the_randomizer I'm guessing its soldering too, I doubt it would be as easy as replacing the Switches Nand daughter board with a custom Xecuter one :P

Perhaps a custom eMMC chip which can be easily plugged where the other one goes?
*One can wish*

that hostility tho. Not saying I hate it. Am saying it's weird, dood.

Good for you. I couldn't care less what people think of it. And this is the last time I'm going to have to defend my choice in avatar usage. Anyways. I refuse to spend money on a damn second Switch just to use homebrew.

Guess there's no good solution, it's either risk frying the motherboard or enabling some scalper.

Interesting. Possible code execution from boot, or maybe some sort of custom firmware.
I will take this information with a grain of salt until further evidence.

Also worth mentioning that the Youtube video was from @garyopa haha. Do you have access to anything we don't know yet? :D

"stop being so hostile" he says while being hostile. Also weirdness is objective. Having a profile picture of an actual human that isn't you is plain weird to me.
shhh. Go away now. We get it, you love arguing. Go away now.

can we please stay on topic? thank you.

anyways, this is on their site:

-snipppp-
is this the first time we're seeing this key, or had it been known?

i dunno what bsd and ffs mean, but I stated what I had to say. I'll drop it now.

Good. and for the record, "BFD," big f*cking deal. FFS, "for f*ck's sake", anyways.

@ShadowOne333 How hard it is to solder something like this and would it be better to pay someone?
