youre obviously trolling tho
it seems you kinda regret updating but you try to convince yourself that you dont want homebrew

but youre lying to youself...hence why youre here
I can't stress it enough how little I care about userland homebrew, I updated willingly knowing I won't be able to get anything until further development. And by the time something better is made, it will probably be beyond userland and do things Im interested in. Again, enjoy your crappy port of Doom, I can do all this stuff on my PSP thats over 10 years old.

So you really believe that a person can't be curious about the development of a consoles scene, but not want to gimp his console by not updating to hope for some lame-ass homebrew applications you already can run on a million other platforms?

And you know what, noone cares that you're telling me that noone cares.

Well, the Xbox One sure had lots of really awesome games you can't play anywhere else...

im not selling hax you ignorant jerk, im selling my nintendo switch that i bought with my hard earned money, i didnt get it for free. shut it with the nonsense
What yardie said. It's supply and demand. If they want it so badly, they'll pay a higher price than 3.0. After all, it offers more than a standard switch, or will, so...

i updated to latest firmware so i could use my microsdxc card in it.i can wait on homebrew for a bit as eventually it will be cracked wide open and have stuff like freeshop (hoping a bit but that might take as long as 3ds's freeshop) and themely or so to fully customize and mod almost everything in the switch.i mean yeah 4.0.2 may be the latest but in time it will be considered "low firmware" if the switch goes beyond that firmware (which it most likely will like all systems usually do). do i regret updating my switch? a little but ik that eventually it will be done.

This whole firmware vuln thing will be moot when a sky3ds style cart is made for the switch... stop the crying and bitching.
why? that would put us in the same position as we were on 3ds
you would still need to update to play newer games like SMO and lose homebrew just like when sky came out for 3ds

After 6 pages, no one here is documenting what will happen to your Switch when you're on v3.0.0 for prolonged periods of time. So here it goes:
  • Battery drains very quickly, like within 45 minutes after it was 100% charged.
  • Battery continues to drain when when in sleep mode. So there's no point in using it to play while on the go.
  • Battery continues to drain when no Joycons are attached.
  • You're still able to play while on the go, only if you also bring along with an external battery pack.
  • Internal battery is pretty useless when compared to an external / DIY solution.
  • Switch console is constantly placed in the Dock.
  • You get discouraged from bringing the Switch out with you while on the go.
  • When completely out of power, it takes more than 20 minutes to stay plugged in to the Dock/power supply charger before you can actually boot it up from cold boot.
If this is better suited for a separate thread, be my guest to create one for me.

how many amps charger do i need to make it run from AC without touching the battery or charge the batter while i use it at the same time?
do you think this problem could be patched in CFW?

i am on 2.3.0 do you think the exploit could even be back ported?

It's just unfortunate that exploits have to be focused on 3.0.0 for now.

3.0.2 right now, (still playing odissey) but will update for pokemon in a blink (hope in 2018).

Same happened with the 3ds, i will get homebrew at a time, i will just wait patiently and enjoy the games that i want with a daily visit to gbatemp.

I'm still confident that we will see flashcarts to a massive extent before a final software solution for everyone.

It is too early for piracy anyway, not enough games to enjoy on lower versions.

Wish I kept my switch on 1.0.0 firmware. But everyone said update to 2.0.0 to access the web browser and get the microSDXC update.

I'm not aware of any benefit 2.3 has over 3.0 right now. However, it's always good practice to stay on the lowest software version possible. Better to need to update to 3.0.0 later than to update now and be unable to use something that 2.3 has and 3.0 doesn't.

Same i'm on 2.3/2.1/2.X can#t remember which, I dare not touch the Swtich :P
Lower is always better! Even in the 3DS Tm Soon days lower was better!

I did the same. It was a calculated risk and it turns out to have been a poor decision, but a lot of folks were recommending it at the time.

What have we learned? Not to trust people that don't have a jack idea. Always wait for the hacker dudes to announce. Everything else is speculations.

You aren't wrong. But there was a certain logic in getting to a version with the browser (at launch I don't recall if it was known you could use a captive portal, and it wasn't known if any carts would contain the 2.0.0 update). It was a bad choice, sure, but it wasn't pure recklessness. But hey, I'm the one who has to live that.
