Hmm DNS should not be coming up at all.

In base all you need is;
1 - ShopN cert
2 - the password for it
3 - a sessions with an actual Nintendo ID
4 - the correct URL als noted on SwitchBrew; http://switchbrew.org/index.php?title=Internet_Browser#ShopN

Then you should be able to access the eshop on your browser just fine.

Well bad bad ... its by no means perfect for sure. But keep in mind it's an interface made for a specific device type.
It was never meant to be (modern)browser accessible I guess for the public.

It kind of reminds me of the wonderful state e-mail client are in (prehistoric support for what we find normal in modern web browsers).

It could be better, sure I'll agree to that in an instance. But keeping it simple for the type op device is not a bad thing to do.
But what would you like to see different?

SLighty off-topic;
If we are looking into looks. I would rather see more theme options on the Switch itself.
I like that we have a dark mode there but I would have expected something more coming there.

The 3DS and Wii U, even the DSi, had good eshops because they were their own applications. They had smooth looks and styles and felt really good to use. I really feel Nintendo cheaped out on the Switch eShop.

Also would like to add it seems using the eShop on pc is messing with my Nintendo Account.

Well this is actually very interesting now if only I could dump my own ShopN certificate so that I can add codes and the like to my switch without the need to update.... I know it's dumb because ultimately I would need to update my switch to actually download the games but still... :x

BTW for people still searching for the ShopN password, it's "shop".

Small update; been busy a bit with all the holidays, changing things up for NintendoReporters and so on.
But tried to see if I could get access to some of the bcat servers, but sadly to no avail.
Sadly I know too little of how the platform adresses the news channel to be able to connect to that.

IF and when I make steps in that, i'll report back.

Still running into this?
Did a quick test but all still seems ok so it should not be more then the steps noted before. Let me know if you are receiving any issues.
