Hey guys,

So what happened is I dropped my 3DS and it broke my SD card or at least corrupted it... Because now when I boot up my 3DS it says the SD card is not found , i am also not able to read it using a card reader anymore, my whole PC just freezes in attempting to do so.

It still boots up the 3DS though very restricted, I can go to settings, but it won't show any other installed applications or games stored on the SD card. I tried using the 3DS device to copy anything I can to my PC to save some data, but with no luck....

I do have another SD card, but it won't boot up without the actual files that I used to install this Custom Firmware, and without having the original files I can't install it again I suppose?

I used to keep a back-up for this but I seem to have lost it :(

Is there any way for me to download a ready-to-go setup that I can just push to my new SD card and boot up again?

I fear that any guides to firmware installation available now are useless to me since I am not in the eligible situation of having an original 3DS firmware , I also don't have any original games

I have no idea where to start since I have no way of looking into the mapping of my SD card anymore to help me on the way and its been like a year since I did all this.... I used luma i think

Thanks, I tried doing that as well but the device simply doesn't boot anymore, no matter what files i put on it from the guide, it will only boot with the corrupted SD card

So when you use a different SD card, does it just show a black screen? Or does it turn off right after turning it on?

Yeah it shows a black screen and you can see the power led go blue and then go off right away , so it's unable to find any boot file in it's attempt to boot
Then if I put in the corrupted SD it boots up like normal to the custom firmware , but with limited options as it cannot read the CIAS anymore... I was able to get a view of the SD card on my PC as attached here but once you try to touch any of the folders it will freeze up the entire PC until you remove the SD card again... I tried several recovery software as well but it wont read the files as it freezes up... so im not able to copy my files even though I can now see a bit of the mapping.

It is a fact that without a proper installation on the SD card this device is not going to boot.... This installation is from a year ago so it's been a while , I think I used the original 4GB SD that came with the device and copied stuff from there to make a basic bootable SD :/

When you use a new SD card. Put luma 7.0.5 on your card. Found at https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases it will be a .bin file you will find. Put that and boot.3dsx on the root of a new sd card you have. Try that and tell us if it loads up for you

Yep that did it! I might manage from here :D Let's see , thank you so much!

It also seems I was able to install some CIA's and they work well

Should I keep it like this or is there any use in upgrading to a better Luma version?

If you want to update follow https://3ds.guide/a9lh-to-b9s

You don't have to update but it is easier for you if you're on the same setup as everyone else (troubleshooting will be more straightforward).
