I'm trying to play Super Mario Sunshine from a burned disc with Nintendont. It loads the game, displays the Nintendo logo, shows the intro cutscenes then it gets to the title screen and stays there for max 3 seconds, and I get "The Disc Cover is open. To continue playing, please close the Disc Cover." If I eject the disc and put it back in, the game will show for maybe one second then it shows the message again. How do I fix it?

Because I already have it on a disc so I can play it on my gamecube too
Also I got Delfino plaza to load after reinserting the disc like 30 times

that message is for safety, once the drive reports a read error I immediately throw a "please reinsert disc" message, if I would not do that the game would immediately hang up or tell you an error occured and you have to reboot the console instead. if you get read errors that often then your wii drive laser may be close to dead.

Oh, I guess that explains everything, but now after I reinserted the disc like 20 or 30 times it played normally even if I reinsert the disc while playing

guess the laser could also be misaligned or something and cant read a specific sector of your disc very well, all you get from the drive is a status byte that something went wrong but not what caused the error to occur. could also just be a microscratch on that disc right at that sector.

Probably something with my Wii because as I said it works on my gamecube
